Works with MacBook
2008-02-12
Not only is this game awesome, but it works on my MacBook (MacBook, not MacBook Pro). It runs even better than on my old PC. The Aspyr game agent doesn't recognize the video card of the MacBook, and the box even says that it won't run on an Intel Video Card, but it does and it runs great. Just make sure you have enough memory to play it. And, after you open it for the first time, go to www.aspyr.com to download the Universal Binary patch to make it run even faster. This is such a great game!
I Love playing sims 2

I love playing Sims 2. It is so much fun. You get to build your own house and family. You can also create your own town if you want. You can hop from place to place and play with Sims that have been created already. There is so much you can do with your Sims it is almost never ending. This is a great game to get.
motorolla yes, intel no

An amazingly detailed update of the original sims game, with mind-blowingly customizable sims, and much more flexible building and dressing options. Gameplay is also more interesting and varied than the original: where sims used to have basic needs, now they also have personality-inspired aspirations.
For a motorolla-based mac, sims2 is a great buy, five stars.
For an intel-based mac, buyer beware. Especially under leopard (10.5.1), the game is extremely unstable, liable to freeze at unpredictable moments, to the extent to which the game is virtually unplayable. Aspyr's "universal binary" patch simply does not work to address these issues: as of the end of June 2008, the game is still inconsistently functional. Not recommended for intel macs and/or leopard.
The Sims 2 for Mac is Worth Buying

This game is excellent! It has much more features than the original Sims, such as: directing and editing your own videos, the Sims having children that actually grow up, more housing designs and clothing to choose from, and indepth customization when creating your Sim.
The game has many families to choose from, with which you can control their fates.
The Sims 2 has a quick installation process and is fairly easy to play.
love it

I've been playing this game since Sims 1 without any of the expansion packs. I spent my saved up birthday money on Sims 2 once it came out and have gotten a new copy every time I've gotten a new computer (3 since Sims 2.)
With an up to date computer this game is fun and addictive, if your computer has poor graphic quality or what not.... it's gonna be a little slow. I played on my family computer for some time and I actually went and got a book to read while it was loading between families and neighborhoods.
But with my newest computer the game is pretty fast. I play with Seasons and Nightlife and I can and have played it for hours.
Ha, it's like Barbies for older kids.
Awesome!

I got hooked to it! Playing this game everyday and every night. My fiance also got hooked to it. It's amazing. It's almost realistic, but funny!
decent game

For those who played sims 1, this game comes as a nice evolution - for those who are playing the game for the first time it's just as interesting. The game has added on some nice, interesting, quirks - but otherwise it's generally the graphics that make this game leap ahead in my mind.
Honestly, the game (like any of the sims) is time consuming and often tedious, because of that it didn't rate as well for me fun-wise. My favorite part of this game has always been being able to recreate or even create houses. For that reason the game rated somewhat better overall.
fun and addictive

When I first bought this game, I put a lot of my life on hold. Embarrassing, but true. It was really fun and always had some new feature to find. (I don't read instructions too much.) After a while, I still play from time to time, and it doesn't get tired. I usually get bored with games quickly, so it's quite a feat. Sometimes I see people or houses or yards and imagine how I would create them in The Sims. It's a great game, better than the first by far.

It's so much better on a mac because I had it on PC before I switched over. First kisses and stuff like that have much better graphics to show the action. The whole game is awesome and knocks the the first sims out of the park as they say. So go play it! Just don't get suckered in and forget how long you've been on the computer.
I liked Sim City better.

This game is hard to start up on my Mac Pro and won't even run on my Intel Mac mini. Getting it to run on the Mac Pro usually requires a reboot. I liked the game at first but lost interest after a short while. Sim City on the other hand, kept my interest for months.
