No Problems
2008-07-27
I recently purchased a Belkin fire wire hub for my Imac. It works perfectly, no problems. I'm running four external hard drives, a film scanner, and a flat bed scanner with it.
Does the job, but not many items are firewire anymore

I use it for an external hard drive and a web cam, but some hard drives will insist on being hooked directly to the computer.
Belkin FireWire 6-port Hub
2008-07-06
The Belkin Hub was just what I needed. My MacBook Pro just didn't have enough fire wire ports. The Belkin was VERY easy to set up and I have had NO problems with it.
underpowered
2008-05-30
While it basically functions as it should, the hub seems to be slightly underpowered. I have just three devices plugged into it (two self-powered hard drives, and a Digi Mbox2Pro bus-powered audio interface), and it doesn't always recognize both drives. Also, sometime when I eject & turn off one of the drives, the audio interface disappears as well. As long as I don't change anything (i.e. turn off any drives), it works well.
Best of the bunch

My iMac only had one firewire port and, since I'm running a hard drive with it, I needed another port for use importing videos and stills through my firewire card reader. This does the trick nicely.
Noisy for firewire audio interfaces

Adding six FireWire ports to your computer couldn't be easier. The Belkin 6-Port FireWire Hub stands vertically on your desktop, conserving precious desktop space as it saves you from reaching behind your computer for ports. Simply plug your high-speed, Zip, optical, or disk drive, scanner, printer, and other peripherals into the five rear Hub ports; a sixth port is conveniently located up front for easy access for your digital camera or other portable peripherals. The unit stands alone or docks with additional Hubs, making it easy to put all your multimedia gear on the ultrafast FireWire track. FireWire technology supports up to 63 devices on one computer with Plug-and-Play ease. The Belkin 6-Port FireWire Hub's sculpted, breakthrough design is aesthetically pleasing as it is functional. Intrinsic cable management flows your cables from the Hub in single file arc, reducing desktop clutter.
works well

I have been using two of these hubs on Macs for several months, with a pile of Firewire hard drives. They work well; I have had no problems.
Exactly what I wanted and for a nice price too!

This functions perfectly and was a nice, low price. No quality was compromised here - I've had it for months and haven't had a single problem. I can't imagine why anyone would buy a firewire hub that was more expensive than this, unless it was a Superman one like my USB hub! But this one looks modern and fits in with my stylish decor. Highly recommended!
great product

It works as it should right out of the package. I got an external G-Drive HD, old firewire iPod, and video cam connected to it, and everything is connected to the iMac. Everything works fine.
Works fine

I've owned this for about a month now and no problems. Works with several disk drives. Even run my video a/d converter through it, and works fine. Like many reviewers, I remember the days when FW routers would screw up devices, but this has worked very well. I'm a happy camper
