Editorial Review
Leaving a rosebud on the finished siding is a thing of the past when using the Bostitch N66C-1 pneumatic nailer. Now you can drive wire weld and plastic inserted coil nails in to all types of siding materials such as wood panels or wood siding, fiber cement board such as Hardie Plank and even light gauge steel. By simply adjusting the depth guide you can "power nail" decking, fencing and some heavier shingle materials. The lightweight body, just 4.4 pounds, is easy to handle and the durable aluminum body will add years to the life of the tool. The N66C-1 is designed with a soft rubber foot to prevent scarring or damage to the working surfaces plus an adjustable exhaust port that can be easily set to divert the exhaust away from the user. A handy rugged storage/carrying case is included to prevent accidental damage and to keep the tool clean. --C. Dwight Barnett

Great Gun 2007-11-17
I was a little disappointed with the firing of this gun. Like another user commented... the gun should be able to strictly single fire and STOP after a nail has been fired. I used this gun for cedar tongue and groove siding installation with premium 2" stainless steel coil nails. About 5-10% of the time the gun would fire 2 nails even when I tried my hardest to allow for a single fire. In addition, for me too, some of the wire from the nail coil would be driven into the wood. Not the worst thing because ultimately when done right with tongue and groove the nail would be covered up by the overlapping siding. But still somewhat concerning when spending close to $300 on a gun.

On the bright side, the gun is light and handles well. It seems to be build very solid. Overall I have been using my DeWalt 15 gage cordless finish nailer for over a year and that gun is awesome. This Bostitch is the first air powered gun I have purchased and I was hoping for the same predictability. Unfortunately you sometimes can't predict what's going to happen when you pull the trigger and I wish this wasn't the case.

Ok...ok...ok... I had to come back and edit my review. The Bostich N66C comes with 2 triggers. One is exactly for my issues listed above. It's stricktly a single shot trigger and will not allow the gun to fire twice. It is for more precise firing when speed and coverage is not the issue. As a result my review has gone from 3 to 4 stars. It's definitely a quality product.

Awesome Siding Nailer 2007-09-04
This is my first nail gun. I am a weekend warrior and have used this to nail HardiPlank siding. It has worked flawlessly. The ergonomics are perfect. If the product could be improved, it would not allow firing once the last nail has been driven.

I used wire collated nails for my project and my only issue is that the wire tends to get driven with the nail causing a blemish in the plank or a piece of the wire actually get driven under the nail head which shows. I'm blind nailing, so this is not a big deal, however, I would probably try plastic collated next time.

Bostitch N66C Nailer 2007-04-06
I bought this nailer to build 250 ft of privacy fence. It worked flawlessly through 3000 wire coallated nails and I am glad I bought it. The ring shanked nails grip tightly to the point that the head will pull through the board before pulling out of the rail. I am looking forward to building another fence!

great gun 2006-06-10
We use this gun for cedar siding, trim boards, and plywood sheeting for both roofs and sidewall sheeting. The gun is light, reliable, durable, and easy to repair if you do abuse it. We have replaced an aircap and a top seal (the gun took a nose dive off a 3 story victorian roof) That said we have enjoyed using it and would recommend it. Can't think of a down side so a 5 star buy. One note if your I would recommend the wire collated over the plastic collated ...we have had issues with the little plastic trails that hangs onto the nail and sticks out around the head. Wire seams to be cleaner.

Great gun 2006-04-02
I bought this reconditioned, and I like both the saving, and the fact that someone looked over the tool. This winter I shot 10,000 plastic colated Hitachi nails through this gun without a single misfire. The company I worked with uses the Hitachi siding nailer, thats why the nailes were hitachi. And I bought a Bostitch nailer because it was both cheaper, and watching others with the Hitachi frustrated with jambing and misfires, helped me make my choice

Good feel, too light. 2008-07-23
I'm a professional carpenter and I bought the Bostitch n66c for most recent house that I'm building. After 20 square i've found that the gun is great. It has on;y miss fired a few times and usually because the coil is almost out. The air exhaust positioning is awsome, the balance great. The downside is that the gun is too light. i found that you have to push extra hard for the nails to seat at the depth that you have the gun adjusted for. My buddy has an older, heavier version of this gun by Bostitch and you really notice the differance. His gun feels like it'll last 10 years on a jobsite, drives the nails completly every shot and is also noticably quieter. I own 5 Bostitch nailers and I don't think that I'll ever buy another. The quality has declined severly over the years despite some good inovations on their products. My finish gun only lasted 3 years of moderate use and my roofing gun isn't even in the same league as my buddy's Max (which has never- really- double shot). If this gun was only $150 I'd expect the way it handled, but for $300, it needs to perform.

Bostitch N66C-1 for stockade fence work 2008-06-18
I purchased this tool specifically for fence work on six foot tall by eight foot long stockade fence sections. These were purchased with only one nail into each of the three cross ties in order to allow the fence to parallelogram following the rise or fall in the ground. Once the fence sections were all correctly aligned and bolted to their respective posts, one additional nail is then driven into each cross tie (three nails per board)to help prevent sagging, cupping and more securely tie the individual boards to the cross ties. MY fence is 31 sections (about 250 feet)and driving the final three nails per board, for the entire 250 feet, took only 2.5 hours and I wasn't pushing it. My N66C-1 worked perfectly right out of the box at 100Psi air pressure. The tool loads a nail coil in about 30 seconds. I ordered a box (4200 count) of Bostitch part number C5R80BDG wire coalated nails (1.75" long, 0.80 Dia., ring shank type) when I purchased the tool. Not a single bobble out of the box. It drives nails as fast as you can move from board to board.

Bostitch siding nailer N66 2008-05-15
You will not be disappointed. Lightweight, tough, accurate, ease of use. If it fits your application it will pay for itself on the first job. Shoots multiple sizes and many different compositions, stainless, electroplated, and hot dipped. Best value.

nice siding nailer 2008-03-20
After putting up a couple of courses of sidewall shakes with a hammer, I went looking for a nail gun that would shoot shake size nails. They aren't easy to find. The N66C is a pretty sweet little gun. It's light, holds a fair amount of nails, doesn't jam, and has good depth control. It is pretty tough too (I've dropped it off the staging a couple of times). I feel like I made a good choice from a rather limited field. The only negative is that sometimes it leaves some of the collation wire sticking out at the nail head. These are unpleasant to hit with a knuckle

Good Nail-Gun for Siding 2008-02-08
Good product, has all the features of the other brands. Came with the peice to switch from trigger activated to impact activated. I've gone through a box of nails already, never had a mis-fire. Easy to use, durable, best price available.
