Perfect for me.... 2008-07-22
I had nerve damage to my fingers and am slowly getting them stronger with this hand exerciser.

good 2008-07-18
19 years old. Medium tension is pretty tough.
i think will help me build effectively my forearm and wrist and grip strength.
Fingers get tired after a while. Must try harder.

Gets the job done 2008-06-30
It's an ok hand exerciser. I bought it primarily to help with my guitar playing. It didnt make me a guitar god in 2 days but it did help me control my fingers a little bit more. I also use it if im headed somewhere and I need a quick warm-up before getting to a guitar. If you're a musican and you want to improve your finger strength, then this could help you. But don't expect to be a virtuoso over night.

My second reason for the purchase was to help with my hand writting. I didn't see any improvement.

But before you even give one squeeze, I suggest you READ THE MANUAL. And look at the grip master website for proper instructions. I keep hearing about people who say they royaly screwed up their wrist from this thing. When ever people ask to see it for a sec, they wrap their whole hand around it and squeeze it fast every second. This is not the proper way to handle this thing. You're not getting any work from it. You'd just be wasting your time.

Good Product 2008-06-27
I have the medium tension one. Planning to upgrade to heavy tension one. Too addictive.

Good warm-up for musicians 2008-06-19
I've had one of these for years and they're pretty dang good. I do doubt the need for the more extreme tensions, at least for guitarists. I have a medium one, but the tension seemed way too much, and I was afraid I would injure myself. I eventually got the yellow extra-lite one and I use it a lot.

DO NOT BUY 2008-06-13

Great hand exerciser! Great for guitarists! 2008-06-08
Good buy. I would recommend this for guitar players, as well as people who just want to exercise their hands and forearms.

GripMaster Medium (Red) 2008-06-02
I have nerve damage that has caused weakness in my left hand. I have used the (red) 7 lb Gripmaster for two weeks and can notice a definite improvement in strength. The 7 lb Gripmaster is too hard for my left hand. I have ordered the two lighter duty Gripmasters so that I can work into the heavier duty units. I have no problem with my right hand and the 7 lb Gripmaster is just about right. I have 64 year old well broken in hands. Younger hands might need heavier duty units. The manufacturer recommends lighter tension and high reps.

Getting a Grip 2008-06-01
I'm a competition air pistol shooter and this product is perfect. I need strong fingers for trigger control, controlling the pistol and holding it steady. Strong wrist and forearm muscles also are critical. The 5 pound gripmaster is perfect. Not too heavy to work with all the time. I carry it around and work with it every day. I love it and recommend it highly.

Just the right size it turns out 2008-05-31
I don't think I'm much weaker or stronger than the average woman, whatever that is. I'm able to push down the first one (index) easily, middle finger fairly ok, third finger only by shifting my hand and kinda involving other fingers and not all the way, and the pinkie finger not much at all. That's my right hand and I'm right handed. So it's a good level for me to start my hand strength building with. I'm starting to lift weights and already see that my hand strength is an issue, and I'm getting back to guitar after over 20 years away from it which is just pitiful frankly, so I thought something to mindlessly work with while reading or something might be useful. This little thing is pretty cool and I think it'll work well. When I can do my little finger easily on this I'll upgrade to the next difficulty level.
