No problems here, it's a great little combo 2008-02-28
We've had this for maybe 5 or 6 years now and take it everywhere, camping, to beach rentals and when not outside the house it was always on in my kids room. It has some nice wake/sleep and record features, the picture quality is still sharp, the a/v jacks support several different media types, it saw a *high* volume of rental tapes and still played nicely and my son used it regularly for gaming. I'm using past tense only because we upgraded the kids TV at Christmas and it's not being used right now.

Absolutely no complaints here. I couldn't ask more from a small combo like this one.

good tv at first , but not anymore and the company is lousy! 2006-08-27
I bought this tv about 2 years ago and it was a good deal...for a while. But just a few days ago, I noticed that the tube's color is off in some places. At first I thought it got hit by lightning, which has happened to me before. But then I called the Emerson people and apparently this is very common w/their tvs! Not only that, but they refuse to do anything about it even though they admit that it's not my fault and why? Because I don't have the original store receipt. I'm sorry but do they really think their customers keep their original store receipts that long? What would do they do if a customer called about a product they've had for 10 years? Not to mention that they don't need such a thing anyway to verify that it is indeed an Emerson product - it says Emerson right on the tv for heaven's sake! I'm pretty disgusted w/this company and I won't be doing business w/them again.

Good Service 2006-07-03
My last TV,a similar Symphonic TV/VCR combo was purchased back in 1995 at Bradlees dept store,it has acted up as of recent years, but only the past few weeks had the picture tube started to fail.Searching around,I could not find one locally to replace it,so I had to do the internet mail order thing. The new Emerson is almost a carbon copy of the 11 year old Symphonic. They have moved the input jacks to the front but otherwise its the same case and everything. One thing I dont like is the sound. There is only one speaker working and its on the left side. The sound is very muffled and you have to crank it up to 40+ to hear the sound with any volume at all.The old set was loud at 10.There is no troubleshooting in their manual or website regarding sound output. So I think this will last 11 years? I doubt it.I miss my old Symphonic already......

They should stop making TV/VCR combos all together! 2006-05-08
I use-to have a Emerson TV/VCR combo and it use-to ack so retorted. Let me explain the problems.

1. Sometimes when you put the tape in it automatically cutes to TV off by itself.

2. It won't let you stop and rewind or fast foward it so it can go faster.

3. The tape gets stuck in it and won't let you eject.

So I had enough I just threw the whole thing in the trash and bought a new RCA TV/DVD combo at Wal-Mart cause I never hear about those messing up like I hear about the VCRs from other people.

Eats tapes days after receiving 2005-09-25
Ths things has ate more tapes than the last I bought. Now it only plays the grey fuss when a tape is in, but you can hear the sound

tv ok, vcr forget it 2005-07-23
The tv picture is acceptable but the VCR ate three tapes and a tape cleaner in just two days!

Horrible antenna 2005-05-07
The antenna is not the traditional "rabbit ears" design, rather it is one spindly thing like a car or radio antenna. I have not been able to get normal channels like ABC to come in on the TV at all. Sometimes I can hear them, but the picture is terrible. If you plan to hook this TV to a cable box, it is serviceable, but on its own I would NOT recommend it. The VCR plays fine, but I am returning this item ASAP.

13" TV/VCR Combo 2005-02-03
Do not turn away from this nice Combo because it is only a 13" screen. There are many situations where it is just perfect. The TV is a great size for the kitchen or in a home work station next to the computer. The picture is clear and sharp with beautiful colors. The smaller screen size makes the picture sharper. The built-in VCR is so very handy to save a TV program that you do not have time to watch until later. This Combo is manufactured by Funai Corp and available for under $100. They produce the 13" TV/VCR Combo with three brand names on them. However, they are all made by Funai and are virtually identical. So it is OK to shop for the lowest price. The three brand names are Symphonic, Emerson and Sylvania. My unit is with brand name Symphonic Model # WF0213C.
