Reliable and Long Lasting
2008-06-26
I bought one of these 2 years ago and it has worked fine with everyday use. Recently I dropped it and one of the buttons became a bit rough. If it weren't because of the fact that I dropped it I'd still have my old one. I definitely recommend this one :)
A good controller

The Nyko Airflow Ex is an excellent controller. After having mine for about a month, I bought one for my wife. The fans aren't too loud unless on high and are a good thing to have. It has a comfortable grip and nice feel and balance to it.
I've now had it for about nine months and it has taken much abuse (constant falls) and it still works well. Except for the left stick, which is causing movement without input from me. Other than that, I recommend this as a good gaming controller. Though I am buying a new one now, my old one could still be used for games that sticks are not needed.
great buy

This is an awesome controller. The fan works very well, and manages to run quietly at the lower speed setting. I was concerned about the size of the controller at first, but when I received it and tried it out, I was amazed at how it fit very well in my hands.
Excellent for MAME

I thought the 2 small joysticks would be useful for MAME. Surprisingly, it worked. Now I play all the great two joystick MAME games like Robotron, Karate Champ, Black Widow, Crazy Climber, Smash TV just like in the arcades. The software configuration panel that comes with the gamepad is super easy to configure and it's available for Macs and PCs. So if you're looking for a great MAME gamepad, pick this up.
Nyko Airflo

This is a realy good controller. I have had this gamepad for 3 months! I have been constantly using it for the 3 months that I have had it, I have even droped it many times, and even steped on it. I haven't had any problems with it yet. I have enjoyed using it. I have setup the controller to control my cursor, and some of my keybord! To get it to do this you have to instal the CD that comes with it. I bought this despite the bad reviews, I am glad I did. I was going to get a logitech gamepad, but it didn't have good reviews either. This one is cheaper, but it has turned out to be even beter than I thought.
If I ever have any problems with it, I will be sure to write another review about it. Don't listen to the other reviews that people left, they have most likely made up an excuse for there own miss-use of the controller. even if I ever have any problems, I will deffinately get another one. They are so cheap! I got mine for $15.95, now thats a deal!
NYKO Technologies 80650 Airflow Ex Pc Game Controller

Nyko has just extended its range of PC controllers with the Air Flo EX for PC. Like its predecessor, the Air Flo PC, it is a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and precision. And here's the kicker - now you get powerful driver software that allows you to create multiple custom button configurations. PLUS you can use the controller to emulate keyboard and mouse functions, allowing you to use the Air Flo EX with all games, even titles that are not game pad compatible. And unique Air Flo technology keeps your hands cool and dry, so you can play as long as you want with ease.
So far, so good

I've owned this controller for less than a month, so maybe I may not be as convincing as other people. But so far it has proven to be a good purchase. What I was looking for was a similarity with the PS2 controller, which for me is excellent.
I bought it specifically to play the PC version of FIFA, and so far it feels like I was playing in the PS console. I havent given much use to the fan, but when I have, it really makes a difference. Above all, I like the grip which keep it like glued to your hand. I hope it continues to works as well as it has.

Good Controller

I've had this control for quite a while now and have had no problems with it, and it has been dropped once or twice too. The fan works as advertised and keeps your hands cool, though the only difference between low and high speed fan is that the high speed is just a little louder, with no noticeable air flow difference. The low speed is really all you need anyway.
All the buttons respond nicely. The Dpad probably isn't as precise as the dpads on many controllers for console systems though(the super nintendo controller probably had one of the best Dpads ever). The analog sticks are very good as well (though once again probably not quite as good as some console system's controllers).
The controller is laid out in a similar fasion to the PS2 controller, so users of it should feel right at home with this. Those with smaller hands might find this controller a bit big, but for the large handed individual like me, it's great!
Really good controllers for computers seem to be hard to find. This one is definitely one of the better ones. I play psyconauts with it along with many older emulated games on the computer. It works very well for pretty much anything (first person shooter games are of course best controlled with keyboard and mouse).
In conclusion, if you are looking for a controller for your PC, this is probably a good one to go with (there are certainly far worse ones). The price is nice too.
Nice for the few months it lasted...

First the fan broke on me--that's really annoying since that was a welcome feature, but I figured I could go on playing without it. And so I could until it stopped taking signals from my PC. If I unplugged and replugged it to the USB port, it would usually work again, but it wouldn't take it very long to fail, and while it was working it would gradually go on and off during the game. Is it so much to ask for a controller that *lasts*? Even if only for a year?
