GREAT stuff for lo-carb lifestyle

This is tasty, filling, nutritious stuff for lo-carb lifestyle or Atkins type weight loss. I've lost more than 75 pounds and my husband has gotten his cholesterol and triglycerides impressively under control using this kind of diet plan (LO carbs, but we don't do the massive animal fats or hugely overdo protein). The good news is I've kept the weight off continuing to live mostly lo-carb, though not without the splurge here and there or forgoing "good" carbs (such as the lower carb fruits and veggies) for more than a year now (so far).
I find these bars great "lunch" options. They're filling and tasty, and the crunch is very satisfying, too :-) No strange aftertaste with these yummy bars. I just wish I could find them locally cuz the shipping in the warmer months is a kicker (you really don't want to come home to a melted chocolate mess).
If you're "on the fence" about these kinds of bars, I'd recommend these to you as they do taste so good, have good stuff in them and no aftertaste. Enjoy!

These are the best that EAS makes that I have found to date! They are crunchy and loaded with chocolate flavor-I love them!
One of the best EAS protein bars 2008-07-19
Some of the EAS protein bars are good. Some are great. This one is great. It has plenty of chocolate punch and much of the texture is like a rice krispie treat. Definitely my favorite EAS bar.
Perfect for a Low Carb Diet 2008-07-05
I was on a low carb diet when I was eating these bars. They are just soo good. Like what the others said below, they are really chocolatey without the "fake" protein bar taste. The bar actually tastes like a chocolate granola bar. As for the price, you receive a lot of bars for the price. I would totally recommend this for anyone who is watching his or her diet, but especially for those on the low carb diet. This is definitely the best low carb protein bar that I have tasted.
These Bars are a Treat 2008-06-16
Looking for a healthier snack, I purchased a few of these bars at
the grocery store. They were so good. I now order them several boxes at a time. These bars are a greatemergency food and they satisfy my sweet chocolate craving.

I've tried a lot of protein bars. I have Metabolic Syndrome, and I need to have snacks between meals to keep my sugar steady and my appetite somewhat under control.
Well, let's face it, a lot of those low-carb bars tastes pretty funky. Either dry and with a sort of weird aftertaste, or not chocolatey enough, or not sweet enough to tame a sweet-craving, etc.
I just tried these yesterday. The market had run out of the ones I usually get (The South Beach) and so I bought this one. (I like the EAS protein drink that tastes like Yahoo!, so I figured I'd give it a go.)
What a surprise. These are way, way, way better than any I've tried, including Pure Protein, Myoplex, Atkins, Luna, etc, and even the South Beach ones.
If you are a person who likes chocolate meal bars for snacks (or meal replacements), then trust me, these taste VERY chocolatey, have a really nice texture (not overly chewy, not dry, not gunky), and it actually serves to satisfy the need for something sweet and desserty. Really nice. It's not low-fat, though, so keep that in mind. And if you have thyroid issues or sensitivity to SOY products, forget it. The first ingredient is a protein blend with soy. Note: If you have thyroid issues, keep soy intake to minimal or none. I have thyroid issues, so for me, this would be an occasional treat to keep me from going piggers over chocolate or candy or cake.
This has maltitol, and if you're sensitive or get gastric disturbances from that (some do), watch intake. Would not recommend more than one bar a day, for sure, if you get the ickies from maltitol.

There it is. A really fabulous tasting low-carb chocolate bar that's got 17 grams of protein.

These are very good & very chocolatey! They aren't are too chewy like many bars that hurt your jaw by the time you are done & don't have that cardboard taste. My whole family loves them.
