Editorial Review
Everything you need, now in one compact alarm. This single tone Malem ULTIMATE combines light, sound and vibration to help even the deepest sleeper wake. A tamper proof selection switch can be easily set to sound only, sound and vibration or vibration only. The switch is located inside the battery compartment to prevent accidental or unintentional switching. All settings have flashing lights. Compact and lightweight (less than two ounces including two AAA batteries) with all the advanced features and advantages of the world famous Malem alarms. The alarm is connected to a clip-on sensor which detects moisture. This new Easy-Clip sensor easily clips and anchors to the outside of any close fitting underwear for boys or girls. NO sewing to hassle with or metal clips or snaps to come undone during the night. NO mini-pads to buy and attach each night! Sensor contacts are within the clip so skin contact or sweating will not trigger the alarm. Malem products have been in worldwide use for 25 years. The ULTIMATE alarm uses inexpensive AAA batteries that last up to 10 times longer than standard "button" batteries found in nearly all other bedwetting alarms.

Holy Cow!!!!! My regret is that I did't do this 6 years ago!!!!! 2007-10-04
My ten year old had never had even one dry night in his entire life. When my pediatrician recommeded this, I was amazed at the positive reviews on Amazon.com. I thought it was worth the try. I decided to give it 3 months before we gave up.

I slept on the floor next to his bed and helped him to the bathroom when the alarm went off for the first few weeks. (Turning off the alarm is a 2 step process---first you lift the lever on the clip that attaches to the underwear THEN you press the button). At first he was peeing right through the alarm going off and soaking his pants and pad underneath. He was just so out of it and didn't realize what in the heck was going on. Then it progressed to where his spot on his pants would be smaller before he stopped himself and went to the bathroom. After a while he was able to put the alarm on himself, turn it off himself, and take himself to the bathroom so I could sleep in my own bed and not worry about it at all. And then he would regress and wake up but have no idea how to turn the alarm off because it was like he was sleep walking. But like I said, I was going to give it 3 months!!!! It seemed like the alarm had stopped working for him.

3 months later he is cured. Dry all night with no alarm. Get this thing right now! Your child and their self confidence deserve it.

2 tips: When the alarm goes off, you must first lift the lever and then you can press the button to turn off the alarm. Otherwise the turn off button does not work.
Second, if your child is not responding to the alarm, sleep walking, not remembering what happened the next day, DO NOT GIVE UP! We had a few weeks of regression and times where I thought we might be the family that it wasn't going to work for. But we stuck with it and now he is cured. I would commit to 3 or 4 months. It is SO WORTH IT and the self confidence is priceless.

All dry in a month 2007-07-02
We bought this for our nine-year old. Note that he was very self-motivated to see it succeed, to the point that he'd use the bathroom a few times before falling asleep. When the alarm went off, he'd get up on his own, use the restroom, and then go back to bed (though not always reattaching the alarm first). We didn't have an issue with him sleeping through the noise/vibration.

Initially it went off every night, but after three weeks things had mostly dried up. :)

Worth every penny! 2007-05-11
We purchased this for our 13yo son. We have tried many things to stop bedwetting: medicine, getting him up at night, restricting liquids, but nothing seemed to matter. He was very discouraged and so were we when we continued to hear he will grow out of it. It has only been 10 weeks since our purchase and he has been dry for at least one month. I slept next to his bed for the first week or so just to make sure he would hear it and respond. We even skipped using it a few days because he didn't want anyone else visiting with us to know about it. This was just what he needed to be dry. We just wish we had heard about it earlier.

This alarm works. Period. 2007-05-03
This alarm rocks. I wish I had known about it sooner. It only took my almost 7-year-old-daughter about 2-3 weeks and she's completely dry now every morning. This has changed the environment in our household and removed a stress in our house. We borrowed a friend's baby monitor and that's how we could hear her alarm going off (and it went off twice/night in the beginning) and I was tired, but after one week, it went to once/night. Then it just stopped and she now sleeps all night and stays dry all night. This alarm is AMAZING.

Finally, something that truly works! 2007-03-23
My son is 9 1/2 years old and was really down on himself about his bedwetting. The pediatrician kept telling us that he would grow out of it eventually and not to worry, but that's not an acceptable answer when your child asks you "Why can't I stay dry like the other kids". We tried a short-term medication that would allow him to go on sleepovers, but it didn't work for my son. We also did EVERYTHING else that we knew of: Good-Nites, restricting liquids, stickers & rewards, waking him up in the middle of the night - nothing worked. The cost of this alarm seemed like a small fortune at the time and my husband was very skeptical, but after using it, I can say it is the best money I have ever spent. It is much smaller than I expected, but it definitely woke my son and I up. I did sleep with my son during this time. He is usually disoriented when he wakes up and expecting him to unlatch the sensor and turn off the alarm (before it woke everyone else in the house) was expecting too much. The first 2 weeks were rough, with the alarm going off 1-2 times each night, changing clothes and sheets. By the third week, it went off 3-4 nights, but only 1 time per night. By the middle of the 4th week, he was dry (and I moved back into my own room!). It's now been 25 days, and counting, since he has had an accident and we are thrilled. He is also so proud of himself. Get this alarm! It truly does what it claims to do. The book by Bennett was helpful as well.

No more bed wetting! 2008-05-29
Our son is 6 and has been wetting the bed forever, every night, sleeping so soundly that he didn't realize the bed was wet until morning. He wants to go to 2 week overnight camp this summer and that wasn't going to happen if he continued wetting the bed! As a last resort, I bought this alarm and we gave it a shot. After 6 weeks of using this alarm, he is done! We finished using it 3 months ago and he has not had a wet bed since. I am so proud of him and so disappointed in myself that I didn't buy this a long time ago; it would have saved our family a lot of stress and energy spent on the bedwetting dilemma.

WOW!!! 2008-05-16
I have never recommended a product with such confidence in my life. I cannot believe what a genius the Nurse Practitioner who created this is!!! My 5-Year old son has had his fifth consecutive dry night to date and started the program just 14 days ago. After 2-3 wet pull-ups per night and a lot of lost sleep during the first four days I was afraid I was in for a long haul. After 7 days, woo hoo!! first dry night. The rest is history. I will continue to keep the alarm on for 1 and 1/2 weeks like the booklet says, but I am confident and excited that I won't need it much longer.

A few suggestions.. If you can, find your baby monitor or borrow one (don't buy a new one, you won't need if for long) I didn't hear the alarm right away the first few nights and learning is quicker when you rush in as soon as it goes off. For easy clean-up the first few nights, make your child wear underwear, attach unit to outside of underwear and put a pull up on over the underwear. A bag of dollar store items that my son picked out himself was a very positive reinforcement for each dry night. I also had a few small candy prizes for him on nights that he just wore the alarm because waking up was sad for him when he knew the alarm went off. They try so hard.

What a relief. I don't know how this teaches, but it does. It is efficent and works every time. Brava!!!

"I love my alarm, Mom!" 2008-05-11
Our son had never had a dry night before we bought him this alarm, and when he reached his 8th birthday we knew we needed to do something. The alarm is not a magic bullet; you really need to buy a book and develop a plan before embarking on what will most likely be an long-term program. If you have an older, more motivated child, I would purchase the Mercer book. The Bennett book is more fun and detailed, with strategies for younger kids. We also purchased waterproof pads to go on top of the sheets - these are perfect for quick middle-of-the-night changes.

It took seven weeks for our son to begin having dry nights, and they were an exhausting couple of months for us all. This should not put you off - it is worth it - but be aware that you may have to exercise a lot of perseverence. We are now in week 15 and have just about cracked the problem! Our son is so happy and proud of himself; he tells me he loves his alarm.

Good results but wire is a little inconvenient 2008-05-10
Our five year old daughter had trouble controlling her pee at night. This gave her (and us) immediate feedback when she wet herself at night. The first night the alarm went off and we had to wake her up but she was able to stop urinating quickly enough that she only lightly wet her underwear. After that she held her pee for almost two weeks every night and only had a slight incident right before waking up in the morning. We have her wear it every other night right now but she is complaining about the wire being uncomfortable. Not sure how we'll deal with this issue but will try to come up with some compromise. Excess wire has been easy enough to tuck in and/or tape so it's out of the way (we pin the unit inside her pants).

This product definitely worked for her and she gets immediate feedback if she is wetting. Wish we knew about this sooner.

Day 3 and We're Dry - It's a MIRACLE 2008-01-14
Normally I would wait a month or so before posting a product review BUT the results have been so miraculous I feel compelled to share!

Before I bought this my 6.5 year old daughter wet the bed EVERY night. In fact, I would put her on the potty before bed and and then before I would go to sleep later that night I'd wake her up and put her on the potty again. She would wear pullups which she would pee in literally every night. Many nights she would fill the pullups and then take them off (in her sleep) and pee in the bed, too. She's a very heavy sleeper.

I took her to the pediatrician who told me that this was normal and that his own kid wet the bed until he was 12. He said I shouldn't worry about it. But I did worry about her self-esteem. So I researched methods, drugs and alarms. In desperation I bought the Malem alarm (I got the one without the vibration based on the recommendation of the people at the Bed Wetting Store).

On day 1 the alarm went off 5 different times in the night which, of course, was exhausting. It goes off with just a drop of urine. BUT, the alarm woke up my daughter and she, each time, went to the potty to finish urinating. On day 2 she woke up only one time with the same thing...she had started to pee in her panties (just a drop) but the alarm woke her up and she finished in the potty. Both of these days the alarm woke her up before any got on her bedding (which is a REALLY big deal for me!). And then last night was day 3 and she didn't wake up AT ALL. Her panties were dry!!! I wouldn't be surprised if we have a set back or two but I have to say that the progress is AMAZING. The company recommends that you keep the alarm on 2 weeks past any accidents to make sure that they learned it.

If I hadn't bought this product I really think that we would have had bed wetting issues until she was 12 or so. I'm so grateful... It's funny...the review that I read that made me go out and purchase this was from the mother of a 12 year old who said, "I just wish I had done it 6 years sooner." Thanks to her I did it. Good luck!!!
