If your going to sink $300, into a GPS get a good case. 2008-02-08
This case is a good way to protect the screen of your 60 CSX from scratches and it is not bulky at all. The only complaint is that there are not enough access holes in the case to get to the unit while it is in the case, so to upload maps, change batteries, etc, you have to take the whole case off - not hard to do, but bothersome.

Cover for Garmin 60CSX 2008-01-28
This thing fits like a glove! Very well constructed.
Can't use if you use the Dash Board mount. You have to take it out of the case.

Pretty Much Unusable 2008-01-23
This unit is apparently not made for a Garmin GPSmap 60Cx. Half of the buttons are covered up when the GPS is put in it, and the GPS antenna is in the way of the flap to close the case. I also assumed that this case could be attached to my belt. I doubt that I will ever use this product without major modifications, and I would advise anyone to not purchase this product.

Excellent protection! 2008-01-07
I recently purchased a Garmin 60CSx and really wanted to keep the whole unit protected. This was a great case which allows you to view and use all the buttons and the screen. Perfect if you like to go geocaching, hiking, etc... and want a little insurance in case the GPS is accidentally dropped.

not for wet enviroments 2008-07-03
This is a great product for a walking around dust cover. However, if it becomes wet it will fog up on the inside and render the gps unreadable. other than that it is a great protective case. still glad i bought it. I just do a lot of canoeing and it doesn't suit my purposes. The gps is waterproof, i wish the case was.

Not very well thought out 2008-06-10
I bought this case for my Garmin 60CSx over a year ago. A month ago I lost my 60CSx. I really miss it, but not this case. The plastic cover reduces the sharpness of the display and can create glare. It also made it hard for me to push the buttons on the GPS. Several times, while I was climbing fences or up rocks, it fell off of my belt (that's how I lost it).

I replaced my 60CSx with a Garmin Colorado 400t, which I like much more that it's predecessor. I also bought Garmin's hard carrying case for it. Now that is one well thought out design! It is made for the bare unit to just set in it, completely enclosed. There is no plastic covering the screen or getting in the way of using it's features. It has two methods of mounting and both are more secure than the clip on this case.

I don't think that the 60 series would fit into the Colorado case, but Garmin might want to think about making one like it that would. It's much better than the case they are offering here.

Garmin Hard Carrying Case for Colorado Handheld GPS Units

Does the job 2008-06-05
Well made case. Protects the GPS very well, as with any case makes it somewhat harder to push buttons, and see with shiny clear vinyl window. All in all a good case that fits well.

Works for my purpose 2008-04-09
Bought this to keep the dust off and to provide a slight cushion when I strap it to my kite buggy on the dry lake bed. Put 160 miles on the buggy with the GPS and case; The only dusty part was the exposed parts. Washed the case in cold water, good as new. Wiped off the gps, good as new.

The hard usage of the jogger button is from the friction of the button and the clear plastic. I hope that they will eventually slide more easily. I'm considering a little 600 grit sandpaper on that portion of the clear plastic.

Yes, access to all ports on the back is blocked. A case with access to all the ports would be like swiss cheese, full of holes. Not really a big deal.

a piece of plastic over a piece of plastic 2008-02-29
I bought this cover for a reason. It was for my second Garmin 60csx. The first was lost overboard during a brutal night of sailing. I normally helm, but we mixed things up and I was up on foredeck. I should have put my Garmin down below.

The Garmin allows for a lanyard to be attached around a thin piece of plastic. It seems that this flaky attachment point is practically designed to fail. And fail it did.

So to it would also seem that the Garmin Protective Case would be custom built to solve this problem, hence the adverb Protective. Instead you get a piece of plastic to wrap around another piece of plastic. Gift wrapping if you will. Yes, it makes the buttons more difficult to manipulate. No, it doesn't allow access to the USB port. And you are correct for pointing out that the plastic window causes glare from just about any angle.

But no, it really doesn't offer much protection that a piece of some screen protection strip wouldn't. I paid $18 for this? Ok, I'm not too smart.
