Battery ruins fun 2006-11-06
I really like this watch, but battery ruins all the fun. 18 hours is about the most I can get out of it. Other than that, even with basic software that comes with watch it makes a nice secondary PDA.

If you don't mind taking your watch off frequvently to recharge, then buy it. If you're the kind of person who really depend on PDA, then do yourself a favor a buy a proper PDA device.

Fossil Service Unacceptable 2006-08-01
The PDA itself is OK. The screen is small, but that is to be expected on a Watch.

My PDA has a very quite alarm. If it is not held next to my ear, I can't hear it. It has been in our house alarming for an entire weekend with no one noticing! It is much quieter than any watch alarm I have ever had or heard. I suspect it is defective.

I have tried to contact Abacus (or Fossil) 3 times regarding this. The first time the service rep said that someone would get back to me. No one did - and it is 4 month later.

The second time I tried the email approach given on their web site. No answer. (Now the "contact us by email" on their web page connects to that web page - not email.)

The third time I called, their phone system put me on hold for about 45 minutes and then hung up on me.

I have given up! I have abandoned the PDA. And I doubt that I will buy anything from Fossil/Abacus again.

I want a computer on my wrist. I really do! This isn't it, though. 2006-07-24
I bought this for myself for Christmas 2005. (Had my wife give it to me.) Time enough has passed for me to critique it.

I just don't use it.

First, this CANNOT be your primary Palm device. The battery life is awful.

Second, if you're over forty and experience any eyesight diminishment, forget this device. (I've had great eyesight all my life, but now I realize that my eyes are starting to fade because I cannot make things out on this device.) I was able to work OK with the tiny stylus.

Third, it's really clunky. I own a Meritline USB drive watch, so I'm not troubled by having something a little uncomfortable on my wrist. I just cannot handle the weight and discomfort of wearing this watch.

It's in the drawer. I really want computer on my wrist. This just isn't ready for primetime.

Good watch but not for everyone! 2006-03-13
Buy if:

1)Spend most of the time in an office. So you can enter data in palm desktop, sync and carry along...

2)Are patience when entering data on watch. Sometimes it is difficult to use the provided mini-stylus, I suggest buying one of those multi-functional pens(pen & stylus), it's more confortable.

3)Looking for a portable & basic PDA. Don't buy if you're looking for an all-in-one PDA.

4)Have a good pair of eyes, of course.

5)Want to call the attention. ;)

it works 2006-01-12
just a few things to add to the previous reviews:
1)Not for people with bad vision; the text is, of course, very small.
2)battery life can be greatly extended by turning the screensaver to off instead of time. I run my watch this way and I play games for hours some days and only run the battery down to 75%.
3) I had trouble getting many applications to run on the watch, but found some games that worked great.
4) I have really enjoyed being able to enter dates, appointments, and tasks on my wristwatch. It is every bit as practical and convenient as I was hoping it would be.

It crashes and freezes 2007-08-30
It would be great watch if you could find applications that can be downloaded, added and actually worked. If you ran it in a vanilla mode, then you should be OK. My wife who is also Geek like myself, ditched the watch after wearing it few months. Maybe next version will be better.

Gimme a long life battery 2007-06-01
Its kinda cool for a PDA on your wrist, but the battery doesn't last for more than a day at most... I'd use it more if I didn't need to charge it every night. Plus all the data (at least on mine) gets erased if the battery dies. It was a nice try, but not good enough.

Has all but not worth 2007-02-26
I bought this watch only coz it was cheap like 29.99$. As I like gizmo things so this was a sure buy but after buying the drawbacks were more like very low battery life ...half a day and IR issues. The light is too dim on this watch and takes a while sometimes with the sytlus to get use too.
I will suggest only this watch if u like collecting watches and want this one just to have it as now the mrkt is full will more advance things

Nice try 2006-12-16
Too bad this was an idea that never went anywhere.

--Yes, a screen can be too small sometimes.

--Battery life 24 hours? Even if 48 hours, that's too short. It would be practical if it needed recharging maybe once a week, like a cellphone.

$80+ watch not even water resistant??? 2006-12-12
I liked this watch, until I got rained on and found out it is not even water resistant. If my son's $5 watch is water proof up to 30 meters, certainly Fossil could have made this watch water resistant for an additional $5. They argue that you should treat it like any other PDA - but it's a watch, too, and people don't usually take off their watches when it rains. Many people don't even take them off when they shower...
