It does the job but it's not reliable.

I bought 3 sets for me and my friends for our 10 day motorcycle trip. I made the installations on a Nolan flipface, Arai flipface and a Shoei motocross fullface helmet. The success of installation depends on your abilities. I decided not to do as they said in the user manual and ended up with a much cleaner and less exposed installation. The extra fullface microphone kit we purchased was not necessary. The reason they sell this item is the limited mouth clearance on some helmets. If you have more than an inch between your mouth and the helmet wall, you don't have to buy the full face kit. The one in the box will work. If you have a flipface helmet, you cannot use the fullface kit anyway. You will have to live with a microphone touching your lips all the time. But you get used to it. Do not remove the sponge wind protector. One of the guys lost his and it became hard to understand what he was saying.
I think the unit provides basic communication. There were many times we were glad to have it. We warned each other in the traffic, laughed about things, let others know about our needs. Being able to communicate on a bike is great. But if you will depend on this ability, you may consider something better. There are inconsistent failures with the units. One of us could not use the ptt handlebar switch because the receptor port on the unit was not working. This was a problem right out of the box. We did not have time for a replacement. The range was about half a mile or one mile at best. We could only talk when we saw each other. The auxilary input was great. I could listen to stereo music and gps instructions. But i could not speak when I did that. Sometimes one person in the group cannot talk or listen. But this is really random. Next day it's fine. The unit also acts unpredictable when the batteries are low. One of the guys was complaining about a constant hissing on his left speaker. I lost one of my speakers after 10 days.
The best thing about this item is its pricetag. It will add to your riding experience but will not solve your radio needs forever. We had the option to get these or not get anything at all. There is nothing that compares in price. It payed for itself but now I will be looking into something else.
Great product!

I ordered 2 sets as my husband and I both ride. One worked but the other didnt so I had to send it back for a replacement. Amazon made the return and replacement process very quick and painless. They sent me a new one immediately. The radios work great and can be moved from one helmet to another with no problem. I highly recommend this product.
Just OK

It's good but not rugged enough. The external ptt button just doesn't work and it's difficult to listen to music when you travel with a passenger in the intercom mode.
They are just ok for the price, but I was expecting a lot more.
good buy

These units have a few problems but work well for the money. The units come with an external ptt button you can mount on your handlebars I had the units replaced once and the external ptt button did not work on all 4 units. It is pretty simple to reach down and hit the ptt button on the unit clipped to your belt. The units do have vox but it is slow to react so it is easier to use the ptt button. The units work both bike to bike and as an intercom, however they do not work very well as both at the same time. When 2 headsets are hooked to the same unit the headsets are in constant communication therefor the wind and engine noise is heard constantly making it difficult to hear if someone from another unit is trying to talk.
I would recommend these units to anyone, I think the problems are minor and for the price they work very well.
Not easy but it works

This is a great alternative to the expensive motorcycle radio units you find at the parts stores. The intercom is clear, just like talking on the phone. The bike to bike radio picks up a bit of road noise but a little experimenting with MIC placement will help reduce it to a tollerable level. Range is a tricky subject. Nady claims 7 miles. Straight line distance with absolutely nothing in betweeen two radios on a clear day while both radios are held at arms length above your head....... hopefully you get my drift. Real life range is probably closer to 2 miles in most common terrains. Which is fine for motorcycle riding together. Plus you can have as many riders as you want on the same coded channel able to talk to each other. Warning! Read the instructions many times. Untill you get used to it, this unit can be difficult and frustrating to use. Don't give up. Play Satation took some time to learn too. This unit is well worth the money. P.S. You can even plug your IPOD into it to listen while you ride.

Great item. Comes with speak to talk button that can be secured on the handle bars. Makes it easy to talk while driving.
The VOX also works, but found that even with the sensor adjuments feature, either the wind/noise could trigger the VOX, or you had to yell in order to activate. Unable to adjust sensor to a happy medium.
Even with this, it is a great item and would recommend to others.
