Ball ok, Included pump broken on delivery
2008-02-07
I bought this as a Christmas gift, and was a bit upset to find out that the included pump (one of the main reasons for purchase) was broken from the beginning. In retrospect, I probably would have chosen a cheaper model that doesn't include a pump.
NOT the color pictured.

The ball seemed well-made and durable, but unlike the photograph which shows a deep, red and shiny surface, the balls I received were a very ugly, and dull orange color that looked way too much like the balls we used to play with in 4th grade gym class. Since I bought them to use as computer chairs, the appearance was a major factor so I returned them. However, if I were shopping for a ball to use for exercise, I'd probably try this one. Do be aware, however, that it's really, really huge. I have a 55cm from a different manufacturer which I DO use for exercise, and this orange monster looked nearly twice its size when inflated.
Comfortable, but bigger than I thought.

I bought this to use as a birth ball. I am 5'10"+, and thought that the 75cm ball would be a better fit than the 65cm. Once it was blown up I could barely touch the floor. I ended up ordering the 65cm ball and using this ball (the 75cm) as a desk chair.
Until it burst

I loved this ball, until it burst. I loved its large diameter, its smart orange skin, the way it filled so quickly with air. But five months after I first pumped life into the ball, in the middle of a workout, I heard a slow, sad whisper from above my ear. One of the ribs had snagged and torn on my clean-clipped fingernail! I considered purchasing another, but after some thought, my next ball should probably be one with thicker skin.
Cool product seems worth it

Its a cool product definitely worth its value.I have been suffering from lower back pain. On the flexible ball which I use as a chair in my office, I could find several seating postures which relax me. I donot feel anything difficult sitting on the ball- I feel very much like normal chair-I like it :) I am 5'7" and I ordered for 75cm ball. I just didnot inflate to the maximum- may be till 65cm or so-but if you are taller than me may be you shud go for bigger ball. they have an inflating pump which is cool.
Great!

I had purchased a smaller one, thinking it would be a pretty large size, but compared to that one, this one is HUGE. The sizing strap was very handy, and the pump worked a lot better than that hand pump I had used for a similar product. So far, it's retaining air really well, has little to no odor, and works well!
works just fine

I use this ball as a chair for my computer. The 75cm ball is just about the right height. You can add or remove air as needed to adjust the height. It is of a reasonalbly thick material, seemingly well made and I don't expect it will burst if I keep it away from sharp objects. It holds air well which was a prime consideration for me as I didn't want to pump it up every three days or so. So far, so good.
Unsafe

The Valeo 75 cm burst resistent ball was not as advertised on the box. When I first received it, the ball material appeared sturdy, though it was kind of thin. The 75 cm size is appropriate for someone over 6 feet. After about two months of use, the ball exploded. As the package suggested, a small hole would occur allowing for the decompression to occur over a period of seconds or minutes. Instead, a tear covered about 70% of the circumference of the ball (perpendicular to the small ridges in the ball) causing the ball to deflate suddenly. The material is just not strong enough to contain a tear to a small portion. Luckily I was only a little bit scraped as I was only sitting on the ball, but if someone had been doing crunches, they would have gotten hurt as the fall occurred at freefall speed. Try to get a ball with stronger/thicker material that lasts longer, and resists bursting. Also, I noticed that the burst remnants of the ball were somewhat lumpy inside, which suggests that the manufacture of the material was poorly carried out.
So Big!

I got this ball because I wanted one a little larger than 65cm, and because of the neat pink color. Turns out it's not pink... It's a really ugly orange color! And it looks horrible in my house! Also, it is SO BIG that I only filled it up to about 3/4 its maximum size, and it's STILL too big... Woops! I guess I should have gotten the 65cm?
(If you're a woman, you might want to follow my advice - get the 65cm ball.)
Don't Buy this Ball unless you are seven feet tall

Don't Buy this Ball unless you are seven feet tall. The ball is of a very high quality. The problem is, it's huge. I'm 6'2" tall and I cannot get on this ball. It's wall to tall, it's twice the size of a normal exercise ball. Try a smaller one.
Good exercising.
