Easily adjustable
2008-04-19
I bought these weights for a couple of reasons. First they are easily adjustable, more adjustable than any other wrist weights I was able to find. If you flatten the soft weights out and put them in on a level surface they go in easier. Second, the velcro strap holds the weights in place pretty well. My wrists are average sized for a woman. On smaller wrists the weights would slip. I have had these weights for about 2 months now and have used them for my aerobics, circuit training and walking routines. I like having my hands free to handle various equipment. I think they are a good buy.
GREAT ITEM!

These weights were great for my rehab program and now I am using them regularly. They fit perfect and the price was great too. I would definately recommend the seller who was prompt with the delivery.
they're good

they're a bit small for ankles if you're on the large side like me, but other than that they're great.
Convenient adjustable weight set

This product is very good. Easy to adjust from 1 to 5 pounds. A good value.
good weights, but not the best

The weights are soft and comfortable, but I do have a caution for those interested in this product, never remove the individual weights. If you're considering starting out with one pound weights and increasing, then I recommend you not buy this product. They are incredibly hard to put back in the pockets. I couldn't do it and had to resort to asking my husband to put the weight back in it's pocket. About 20 minutes later and much mumbling under his breath, he had finally gotten it back in.

Valeo AW5 Ankle/Wrist Weights
2006-10-08
I'm male, 5ft-5in (165cm), 130lbs (60kg). I use these Valeo AW5 weights as wrist weights. I also use wrist weights similarly designed, but using cast iron inserts, which are smaller for the same weight. For my wrists I have found the cast iron weights superior, as the smaller size allows them to concentrate more of the weight at the farthest possible distance, so they feel heavier than the slightly larger Valeo weights.
However, I also have the heavier (10-lb) version of these weights (Valeo AW10), which I use as ankle weights, and I feel the softer inserts are superior to the cast iron version when used as ankle weights, simply because of the painful pressure the cast iron inserts exert against the top of my foot, and against the bones of my ankle. The softer Valeo inserts are much more comfortable for use as ankle weights. (I even wear them "upside-down" so the thick bottom seam doesn't dig into my foot. Don't worry... the inserts aren't going to "slip out".)
The Valeo AW5 weights fit snugly enough, but I have them as tight as they CAN be closed, and the small diameter of my wrists is probably similar to an average-sized female, so smaller women may have trouble with these weights slipping off. (Try holding something in your hand to keep your fist clenched.)
Overall, I have been satisfied with the design and construction of these Valeo AW5 Ankle/Wrist weights.
barely acceptable

I have one big problem with these ankle weights: they slip down and don't stay on well. I keep tightening them to no avail. so exercise is an exercise in frustration. Other than that, they seem to be well constructed and of good quality. I'm sure they will last a long time. But I don't recommend them, regardless.

WOULD HAVE PREFERRED METAL WEIGHT INSERTS THE SAND FILLED ONES
DIFFICULT TO RE-INSERT. NEXT TIME WILL ORDER SUCH.
ALSO THE VELCRO WEARS OUT SOMEWWHAT QUICKLY. THIS MY FIRST USE OF LEG WEIGHTS AND YOUR PRICE WAS THE MOST RESONABLE.
