Editorial Review
Toro's 15-inch 4.4 Amp electric trimmer features a dual trigger handle that makes it easy and comfortable for users to switch between trimming and edging. Other highlighted features include an exclusive variable cutting width system, which gives more control when trimming and edging, and an edge guide/vegetation guard, which makes precision grooming easy. Additionally, it has a patented bump-feed line advance, which allows the user to simply tap the trimmer head when more line is needed. No tools are needed to change the spool. The trimmer is equipped with an exclusive cord lock system that prevents accidental disconnects, and comes with a 2-year manufacturer's warranty.

Toro 2008-09-05
Being a woman, I don't have the strength to start a gas-powered trimmer. Although I haven't used my trimmer very long, I found it lightweight a powerful and does the job. The price was right, too. I recommend it for women.

This Toro trimmer works great and it is very light ! it is good for my size and fit like a glove . Thanks .

Don't buy it 2008-08-31
This item was less than acceptable and broke immediately I had to return it and purchase another type of trimmer I tell you "DON"T BUY IT".

Don't have it shipped. 2008-08-27
Just received this today via UPS. The box was bent and the handle inside was broken in half. Very poorly packaged by Toro and Target.com.

Received in timely manner. First trimmer was broken. Return procedures easily understandable. Replacement handled quickly and efficiently. Second trimmer received promptly and performs as expected.

Cheap Plastic, Not much power. 2008-08-14

Toro 51346 problems 2008-06-21
I've had two of these trimmers, and the same thing happened to both after fairly short periods of use.. less than an hour. The plastic hole where the line feeds through broke off. I would NEVER recommend one of these to anyone.

Excellent 2008-06-16
This is my second season using this trimmer and I have nothing but good things to say about it. I would say that after trimming grass up to a foot tall for about an hour with no break, I've put it through its paces.

As far as a few people having the motor burn out, they may want to pick up a good extension cord and read the manual's recommendations. It clearly states that if you use higher gauge extension cords at longer distances, you run the risk of burning the motor out. I use the 50' Coleman high visibility 14/3 and I've had no problems. I've also had no problems with bump feed. It feeds quickly and cleanly every time.

PROS:
Seems to be well built.
It's powerful and makes quick work of even the thickest grass.
The bump feed works well.
Price.

CONS:
You're attached to a cord...but hey, it IS a corded trimmer.

line advance- the most important thing on a trimmer 2008-04-23
i'm having terrible problems also with the line advance.. it just isn't working properly. The line keeps jamming and the button on the bottom won't press in because of it.. and it isn't dirty inside. I don't know if the factory wound spools would work better but i wound the thing myself this morning almost perfectly to see if it would make the difference.. nothing, it still jams and will not advance properly. After having to manually advance it a few times i got tired of it and quit. We had the cheap $30 weed eater previously and i never had a problem with it. Sure they will wear out in a few years, (especially if you overuse it and burn it up like i did trying to do all the grass in the back yard at one time usually done with the lawn mower, it's not meant for that) , but it's acceptable if you manage to actually be able to use the thing. I'm not having any luck with the toro here and am probably going to order what worked in the past. It really does hum and vibrate more than the other one like others have mentioned. The metal guard is a good idea if you're going around plants but can't be used close to the house or near fences obviously. For me it's more of a pain and i wish i had gone with the weed eater. You get what you pay for but placing the 2 side by side i'd go with the cheaper weed eater.. it's more solid and dependable and can be used without having to repair the line every few minutes.

Shooting Flames & Billowing Smoke 2008-03-03
We received this item as a housewarming present. Warming is exactly what it did. The second time we started it up, it started shooting flames out of the bottom and smoking heavily. Needless to say, it went back to Home Depot where they weren't selling them anymore. I thought because of the "Toro" name, it would be great but, unfortunately our's was a lemon.
