My Pride and Joy! 2008-05-30
This is the tool that turned me into a blue tool guy! I have used this thing day in and day out for about two years now. Have cut everything from pine, oak, hickory, mdf, melamine... you name it! I use it as a miter box and compound miter, either way it is just as accurate. Laser is hard to see most of the time but if you really need it you don't need a $500 saw. It has work supports that extend out more than most and they are pretty stout. It also has a flip up stop for repetitive cutting and a good extending fence. The adjustable depth setting is great for cutting dados and notches. The only downside to this saw is it's HEAVY, trust me you don't want to carry it up a flight or two of stairs everyday. Make sure you get a strong miter saw stand!

Quite A Good, Solid Saw. 2008-05-20
To begin with, I ordered the saw on a Thursday morning and even using the free shipping option it showed up on Friday afternoon! I bought the saw as I wanted a better miter saw to start doing some woodworking, cabinet making, etc...general weekend hobby stuff. I also needed it as I was installing a bamboo floor in the kitchen and would need something to cut boards to length.
The saw needed only minor adjustments out of the box, but as other reviewers have stated the miter detents are nice, but the markings and pointer are a bit wide and does take some fine tuning. The only other complaint is a relatively common one as well and it deals with the laser. When I installed the laser, it was off by about a quarter inch or so. Strangely however, the longer I use it the closer to the actual cut it gets! It is now nearly exactly on the left edge of the cut. Dust collection is greatly improved if you can connect the saw to a vacuum or dust collection system, otherwise like most catch bags, it doesn't catch much.
Outside of those couple of smaller items, the saw works great! It is sturdy and all the front controls are really handy. If you are doing a lot of sawing you will have to periodically clean the slides to keep it from sticking, but that will be the case with just about any sliding saw.
The blade that comes with it is actually pretty good, but I did upgrade to an 80 tooth Forrest blade in order to get clean and cut out free ends for the bamboo.
All in all, I am very pleased with the saw. The fence is sturdy and square, and the extra outfeed supports help...especially when cutting things like flooring which is typically about 3 feet in length. I still have many more projects lined up for it, but so far it has performed beautifully and I have no real problems or concerns with it!

wow 2008-04-27
I have been limping along with a little $90 cheap saw. This is my first real one! I have just set it up and am impressed with the adjustability of EVERYTHING. Put a square on it and every thing is right on out of the box. The up front controls are great. Clear markings take the guess work out. I dont know how I got along with out this saw.

best 10" saw i've found 2008-04-18
read a bunch of reviews before ordering this, and saw a bunch of others in person at sears/lowes/home depot before passing on those and ordering this one, which i couldn't find locally.

some things i didn't see while glancing through the other reviews...

1) comes with a pretty decent 80 tooth blade that cuts as clean as most table saw blades, so it's not necessary to buy a new one instantly as it is with some others

2) no other 10" saw i found had as much range of movement as this one, it goes 55 on one side and 60 on the other

3) stops and locks that are well laid out and easy to set/unset, which is a huge plus if you use this for more than just framing up 2x4s. this could double as a radial arm saw for most functions, actually, with clever use of the stops and locks

4) seems rugged enough for every day use but it's not overly heavy. i took it straight upstairs in my house after unboxing it and set it up in a room i'm remodeling and had no trouble carrying it up the stairs by myself. every other saw i found with this much range of movement was 12" and not nearly as easy to carry

5) bevel adjustment is on the front as well, which is a plus for not having to reach around the back of the saw to tilt the blade

Bosh 4410L 2008-04-08
This is one excellent piece of machinery. I evaluated multiple products before selecting the Bosch. Quality tools help produce quality work. Even though there are extensive direction for making adjustments this tool was ready to go right out of the box. I was cutting trim molding for my home in record time. The sliding mechanism and bevel are easy to adjust and smooth as silk. Highly recommend. Would have given it a prefect score except the laser seems to be an add on and not an integrated part of the saw. The laser line does not mark the exact point that the blade is going to cut so you need to learn to adjust for it.

Are you feeling lucky? 2008-07-04
Reading all these five star reviews makes me jealous. I'm a professional carpenter and there's a lot I love about this saw: the upfront controls, the table extensions that are perfecly in plane with the table, the tall sliding fences, the smooth, quiet motor... I'll never be totally happy with a saw that doesn't have those features. But I'm sure not happy with mine. It has the dreaded wavy cut syndrome. It's not caused by sloppy sliders as some reviewers have speculated. The problem is when the plane of the blade is not perfecly in line with the direction of the slide. Everything on the saw can be adjusted except that. If you get one do some test cuts on some wide stock right away. Chop it close in, then fully extended. Do you see a sawtooth in your cut? When you slide cut do you get any burn marks on the sides of the cut or a wavy cut? I did, and I took mine to a factory service center. They said the put a lot of new parts in it and checked it out but guess what. It still won't cut right. If you get a good one you'll love it, if you don't, send it back!

Bosch is the best in its class 2008-06-28
I just finished my first job using this super saw. Wow! Great saw. No complaints. Just some hints. 1. Don't buy it for the laser cutting guide. The laser light works but lasts 20 hours max on the batteries supplied. Throw away the band aid laser add on! It really is a worthless toy. Lesser saws have better lasers. 2. The stamped out saw blade isn't bad but get a good 60 tooth and this saw will be hard to top. 3. The dust bag lets fine dust through but gets most of the heavy stuff. 4. The blade limit stop to stop the depth of cut slips if you pull down to hard but I learned the hard way and learned to let the stop work as a guide.
The upfront bevel lock is super and it swings past 45 for those nasty out of square corner cuts. All in all this is a solid machine with a good amount of clearance to cut crown mouldings since the motor is up out of the way and the blade is belt driven. It is intimidating at first with all the gadgets and new placements of the locks and stops but very user friendly after a few hours use.

A great saw 2008-06-18
I had a Ridgid 10" miter saw that I thought was a good saw but it did not have the cutting capacity that I needed while remodeling the exterior of my house. After reading recommendations and reviews of miter saws in various sources I purchased this saw from Amazon. It is one of those tools which not only does what it is supposed to do but is also a pleasure to use because of the quality and features. I never thought I'd pay so much for a miter saw but am glad I did. I mounted it to a expandable mobile tool stand from Harbor Freight and couldn't be happier. It was dead on right out of the box. The difference between this saw and my old Ridgid is like day and night. The one minor complaint I have is with the clamp ---- it is very innovative and works very well but it is the compression type of clamp and I find that more often than not when I compress the clamp, my hand hits the attached protruding clamp tension adjustment knob.

a great buy! 2008-06-16
i did a lot of reading up on Compound Sliding Miter Saws and went with the Bosch. i was on a budget, but dont mind spending the money if i only have to do it once. the Bosch arrived on time and was in perfect shape. i spent a few hours and was pleased to find it only needed minnimal correction to make a true cut. it has plenty of power and makes a great cut in both rough lumber and fine trim. i would recommend a higher quality blade for fine trim work tho. i am very pleased with Bosch on this one!

Everything I thought it was.... 2008-06-13
I recently bought this saw as a replacement for a 12" Delta compound miter saw. I read a lot of the reviews and after comparing the different saws that are out in the market place I thought that this one fit my needs the best. I have used it a couple of times now and what a difference there is between the two saws. The 4410L is a much better saw than I had. I have been cutting a lot of 10-12" wide boards for custom work around the house and having the sliding feature really saved me a whole lot of time. The difference in the cuts between the saws is significant as well. The 4410L has a much better cut than my previous saw. Right out of the box the saw was ready to go. My friend recently bought the Makita version and after using mine wished he had bought this one.
