BORING GAME 2007-10-18
I could only play a few minutes of this game...just too boring.Too much of the samething over and over.

Worth Buying 2007-10-08
Most of everything I want to say has already been said in the 5-Star reviews here, so I won't be boring you with a repeat. I just want to add my 5-Stars worth and tell you that what the 5-Starians say is true.

bloodrayne 2 is great! 2007-09-20
i'm not much a gamer,and i'm also a girl

my boyfriend had this first one and one day whilst i was bored i started playing it,and i reeally liked it!!
then i got him the second one and both of us enjoyed that one,the graphics aren't the best, the figures look a little too geometrical sometimes and the view can go wacko on you at times but on the whole these games rock very hard!

i wish they'd done a better job with the movies, the chick doesn't even look like her in the first one and the costume looks so cheap and poorly made
they should have gotten milla jojovich to play bloodrayne, and they also should have taken a look at the videogame before they made the movie cause rayne's hair wasn't very red nor were her eyes all that green, all she had on her that was accurate were her jugs, and that was about all....geez!

Simple and Fun.. 2007-03-18
If you're looking for a game to just enjoy and play without too much stress, this is the title, it got poor reviews elsewhere because some people don't realise that not everyone has HOURS of time to devote to play and this title gets to the action quickly and effectively, hack and slash baby!!! NOT FOR KIDS parents,I have enjoyed this game more than other more expensive cutting edge titles, it is simple, well designed and does not require a whole whole lot of effort... great for the old school gamer who needs some live action without all the fluff... this title simply get's to the point LITERALY... buy with confidence...

More than meets the "eye" 2007-02-28
First off, I must mention, I'm physically disabled with limited manual dexterity, so I couldn't try the more complex moves.
Those of you who are used to fast twitch games will enjoy flipping around like a killer gymast.

The Rayne character is "fast". The camera is twitchy and changes angles during fights, even when reduced to 10% sensitivity. Rayne also jumps likes a jaguar, which causes even more havoc with the camera.
By reducing the camera sensitivity, you help reduce the shifting camera angles, but you also nullify using the mouse to control Rayne's direction.
Again, those used to fast twitch games shouldn't have a problem ... I'm sure a gamepad would help(... I'm unable to use them)

Recommended cards are Nvidia 6800 and Radeon 9800 Pro or X800.
You do have 4 options before starting the game to turn on/off specific visual effects.

Nice feature is the built in cheat codes.
I didn't mind dying, more killing time for me.
But as the game progresses, it gets pretty tough. Even the normal enemies(... without their own health bar) become a handful.

Another plus is, you don't have to complete objectives immediately.
You can just keep killing to earn carnage or fatality points, as enemies will continuously respawn.

Yes, Rayne is hot, the weapons cool, combat moves quite spectacular and the powers fun.
I was surpised by the different locals in which you fight; nice diversity.
The story/plot was interesting.
If you read the dialogue, watch the screen and check your objectives, you have all the info to succeed ... surviving is another matter

It's basically a kill-fest ... how you do it is up to you

My only disappontment was the "unlockable" outfits.
It appreares as though you can unlock 4(?) outfits ... I was expecting one per each time you finish the game ... and I was expecting some "hot" outfits
I was wrong on both counts.
After you finish the game, 11 outfits are unlocked. None are "hot".
I believe 4 were different colors of the gown(... nothing new), you have a S&M outfit(... doesn't look like Rayne), a Cowgirl outfit = ?, a Schoolgirl outfit with really short skirt = ?, and a knight in armor = just what I want, Rayne all covered up. I might have missed one ?
I was hoping for: gowns cut differently up top ... dresses that ended at upper thigh(... I'm no fashion expert) ... short/tight shirt + shorts ... a bikini ... a wet t-shirt ... or body paint with the BloodRayne icon
Ok, I'm a guy, shoot me.
All they had to do was look at a fashion magazine or the SI Swimsuit Edition to come up with ideas.
Frankly, their choices stink. They had a good idea; unlock outfits. But it was poorly implemented and the choices, IMO, worse than the standard gown/outfit.
Considering the game is rated M and obviously for guys: the gore(... impalement, dismemberment, blood); nudity(...Ferrill); language ... you would think spicing up the oufits wouldn't be stretching the boundaries ?
It's a small disappoinment.

You know it's fun when you don't mind replaying segments.
Most fun I've had playing a game.
Even the quips by Rayne and the enemies had me laughing.
Those of you with good manual dexterity will have replay value due to the multiple combat moves; some are quite complex ... fun to watch(... I needed god mode in order to hold down the keys without being killed before finishing the move )
Enjoy; I did !

Bizarre work of art - Great game! Serious R rating BTW 2007-02-05

first game was a little better 2006-04-28
Playing this right after playing prince of persia (which I think this game is trying to emulate more with it's acrobatics, and special moves)... this games seems not as great. The movements are not as fluid and are more finnicky. In some ways it is an improvement over the first bloodrayne game, but in other ways it is a bit worse. Mainly, it is shorter than the first game, and you are mostly fighting thugs where as in the first game you are fighting mostly undead and nazis. I also like the weapon system of the first game as well and the fighting style. It is true you do have some cool moves in this game as well, but in practice, I aced most of my boss battles, by just hitting the c key and button 1. The game also relies too much on swinging enemies with your chain into certain objects. It's okay for a while, but it's not really all that intuitive (why not let her push and throw people in there as well?). Overall I like the first bloodrayne a little bit better... yes it had it's faults (the chain didn't work.. was too easy) but it just oozed style.
The good thing about bloodrayne 2 is the bosses, and the more logically rendered weapon and combat system.

One of the two greattest computer Games of all time! 2006-02-24
i'll say this... I have spent the last 18 months playing BloodRayne 1. I finally got a copy of BR2 in December, and I have played this every day since then. I can see I'll be playing this game as well for the next 18 months!
The action is amazing, and we get to see some glimpses into Rayne's personality, including the frightening revelation that without the intervention of others, she might have turned as evil as her brothers and sisters that she spends this game battling.
I do think miss a few of the moves from the first game, including the ground pin-feeding and the rebound kicks. However, this game adds new moves (including spectacrobatics, Rayne's venture into somersaults, saltos and other gymnastic moves incorporated into combat)
The ending of the game was quite the shock for me! I didn't see that coming (that's not often I say that).
If you like action games... this MUST be in your collection!

Excellent Game, Arguable Release 2006-01-10
I will start by saying that I have been a fan of the series since the original was released. I got that one the week it came out. When I heard that a PC version of the sequel was to be released, I finally built a gaming rig to play it on. and I am glad I did. This baby needs some serious power to play it at full blast. And a gamepad is another necessity. I tried playing on the keyboard/mouse combo, and my wrists and forearms hurt after 20 minutes. Anywho, on to the game:

GRAPHICS:
The models are astounding! I looked and went WOW. There is also a LOT of blood in the game.

SOUND:
The sound is great. the explosions and crashes sound great. The people being slashed to bits also sound so realistic.

GAMEPLAY:
The game takes some getting used to. But overall, little to no learning curve.

OVERALL!!:
Overall, a 4/5. The game is great, i just don't like the release. First off, the amount of time between Xbox/PS2 and PC is inexcuseable. Second, 4 CDs? Ever heard of a DVD-ROM Majesco?? Other than my petty gripes, a good game for the action gamer!

Great game, not for everyone 2005-12-19
Bloodrayne 2 is overall, a great game. The graphics are well done, with the expected eye candy. The gameplay is fun, with a lot of different powers, combos, and gun modes to mix things up.

It's greatest weakness is the jumping puzzles, which are thankfully not that prevalent. I'd say they make up 5% of the game overall. The voice acting is a little cheesy, but the storyline isn't bad and the game is fun.

Be aware it is VERY gory- severed limbs abound, and Rayne's feeding looks like every 13 year old boy's dream come true. Heck - every 30 year old man's, for that matter. Don't buy the game if you're qeausy (sp?) about gore, or sensitive about female nudity.
