Wireless Doorbell 2008-09-21
This was very easy to install and works well for back door. Delivered promptly, and was as shown on screem

It's okay - nothing special 2008-06-22
Since the doorbell in my 50 year old house no longer worked, and I wanted to avoid having to go through a rewiring operation, I opted for this wireless unit.

Basically, it works well enough - the only problems, such as they are, are that the chime itself isn't as loud as it might be and the doorbell button (which is to be mounted in the area of the front door) is not particularly visible. Perhaps if it were self-illuminating the visitor's eye would be drawn to it, but as it is it is easy to miss, particularly at dusk.

Battery life seems good; I have not had to replace the batteries in the year I've owned this item.

If it doesn't work out of the package......give up 2008-05-30
I never had to work so hard to install a "C" battery. One battery is a very tight fit and no room for your fingers.

And that's just the beginning. I finally got 3 batteries in the chime and one in the button and then.....nothing, it did'nt work.

After reading the manual I learned that this thing uses electronic jumpers to achieve 64 codes and stop interference. The jumpers (tiny bridges that fit over pins on the circuit board) are very hard to get to, there are a total of 14, 7 in the chime and 7 in the button. It takes experimentation to figure out what works.

I eventually found the right combination and then found that the head of the supplied screw for the chime didn't fit in the keyway slot on the back. Not a biggie...just added to the hassle.

Too much aggravation for a $17 product.

Works sometimes 2007-06-27
I need to fiddle with the battery occasionally to get the chime to work. It is not very reliable.

Works Most of the Time... 2007-06-14

Evidently some folks have trouble with this unit and some have not, and I would identify with the later group. I found it an excellent replacement for my previous model. I have the receiver and transmitter fairly close together, but the signal goes through a steel reinforced cinder block wall. I have not had any problem getting the chime to go off when the bell is pressed, and have not found anyone who pressed the bell too lightly for it to work. Seems pretty good to me.

July 14th, 2007 update
I have been using this bell a while longer now, and have noticed a few people who pressed this bell too lightly for it to work, unlike at the time of my earlier review. This would make my new rating 4 stars if possible. The front transmitted has a little LED light that comes on when pressed correctly, but, since I use this bell at our drive-up window, most people can't see the light since their hands and knuckles get in the way. Still, it works pretty good.

Sounds Great. Sound savings. 2006-07-10
This wireless door chime was shipped quickly and works very well. The product is eveything it was advertised to be. It was easy ,even for grandpa, to install. We are very satisfied with this purchase.

Great product for a very low price 2006-06-01
I was very pleased with the doorbell I received. It arrived in almost half the time I was quoted. I was told 7 to 10 business days but received it in 3 or 4. The chime is small and doesn't stick out like a sore thumb on my wall. The price was almost 1/2 of what many retail stores were charging for similar products. I feel that I received an excellent product for a great price.
