Exceeds expectations... 2006-08-10
It seemed that every store in town carried one of the same 3 mat brands - none of which provided a safe showering environment. I decided to take a chance on this mat after reading the other reviews. Very glad I did. This mat is extra large - it covers a large percentage of the tub floor. It is of very high quality. Most important, it has lots of suction cups (so it stays where you put it) and the top side is VERY slip resistant. I feel MUCH safer with this mat. It is well worth the price.

This Is A Must In Every Home 2006-07-13
I have been buying a certain bath mat now for years! I noticed the last one I bought was different. It said " soft cushioned cups" After using it and almost falling, I called the company and told them " this is an accident waiting to happen!" I was actually holding onto the top of the shower while the bath mat moved around! I read the one review on the Safety Bath Mat, and that convinced me to order it! It's more than I am used to paying for a bath mat, but believe me, It's worth it! The Safety bath mat is sturdy and stays in place. It has lots more suction cups than my other one! I am very glad I orderd it! I am a senior citizen and can't afford to fall, expecially in the bathtub!

It's all about the suction... 2005-05-11
Everybody has fears...heights, snakes, spiders, etc. One of mine is that I'll slip in the tub and seriously fubar myself and have to lie there in my nekkidness until help arrives...you see, my current situation involves using a shower/bathtub combo. When it was new, the tub had safety strips on the bottom, ones that allowed for the user to stand in relative, non-slip safety while showering (I rarely take baths...something about sitting in a pool of my own filth seems unappealing). After some twenty odd years, the strips have since worn away, and I've resorted to using bath mats to keep my shower from turning into a slip and slide. The last one I had was purchased at a local drug store for the paltry sum of about six bucks, and seemed sufficient until I noticed it had a tendency to slide when shifting my body weight (I like to move around to get all my areas clean). The problem was not a result of having too few suction cups, but the fact that said cups were just too small (about the size of a dime), and spread too far apart. It wasn't bad (better than nothing), but the threat of falling was definitely apparent, and I heard somewhere that a majority of accidents do happen in the home, so I decided to find something better not desiring to become a bathroom injury statistic (although if I did, I probably could have sued the manufacturer for some serious coin, but I'm not litigious by nature)...and find something better I did...

Now, I wasn't looking to spend no $18 (with shipping, it was about $23) on a bath mat, but since you only live once, I figured `What the heck?'. The first thing I noticed was the size of the mat. When they say `large', they weren't kidding (bigger is definitely better in terms of bath mats). The mat covers nearly three quarters the length of the tub floor, and is wide enough to cover nearly the entire width of the tub floor. The suction cups are numerous (it says hundreds, but I have yet to count), are about the size of half dollars, and anchoring the mat firmly to the tub surface. Another nice feature is the side that faces up has not only textured areas for safe footing, but smooth bumps (opposite the suction cups on the flipside) that offer a something akin to a foot massage, but don't interfere with the traction I so much desired (and needed). Also, given the length, the one end even has a molded area on one end that allows for placement around the drain, rather than over it (the picture doesn't display this, so I don't think it's an actual photograph of what I purchased). Having just recently received the mat, I've used it twice, and there has been no slippage. The thing stays where it's put, and it sits relatively flush to the surface, allowing for sudsy water to run down to the drain (this wasn't the case with my previous mat, as the suds would build up on the end opposite of the drain). It's also heavier than my previous mat, giving a sense of durability of something that will last for a while through proper care (it's wise to pull the mat up often and flip it, allowing it to air dry, preventing the development of nasty fungi...if you do find some growth, spray it with a little bleach in a well ventilated area, let sit for a few minutes, and rinse thoroughly).

If you're looking for the Cadillac of bath mats, this is it...in the grand scheme of things bath mats rate comparatively low, but when you're being transported to the hospital soaking wet and nekkid with a broken hip and a concussion on the noggin, you'll quickly discover an $18 bat mat is infinitely cheaper than a visit to the emergency room.

Well worth the money! 2008-07-19
After buying half-a-dozen various non-slip tub mats, I had just about given up on finding one that actually worked! I read the reviews on Amazon regarding the Safety Bath Mat and decided to give it a try. It was a bit more costly than others I have tried but they are in the garbage now. I am SO glad I tried it! It is so far above the ones available at local retail stores that I am hard pressed to find adequate words to describe it. All I can say is that I will never buy another kind from now on. I am sold on the Safety Bath Mat. It is well worth the money!

Good stuff 2007-12-27
I have an elderly grandmother who has been complaining about her lack of a decent non-skid bath mat for a while. My mother and I have tried several different brands/styles all to no avail. I believe that this one has finally done the trick. My grandmother hasn't complained about it yet (a miracle unto itself) and I could not feel any slippage when I tried to push it around. I am happy with this product so far.

Works good with two little ones in the tub 2007-03-08
We used to have a flimsy bath mat that kept slipping because the suction cups wouldn't adhere. Our two little kids would slip and slide all over each other! This mat is heavy and sticks to the tub without any slippage, while it also covers almost the full length of the tub. It's worked great for those communal kiddie baths!

What more could you ask for? 2006-11-20
I got this bathmat because my 1-year-old loves standing up in the tub, as much as try to keep him seated. I love this bathmat because it's almost the full length of the tub, it doesn't move AT ALL, and the top doesn't get slippery. What more could you ask for?

Every bit as good as the reviewers promised! 2006-11-06
I ordered this to replace a wornout name-brand mat, based on the reviews. I cannot stress enough just how nice this is--neutral in color, stays in place, feels secure to stand upon, rinses cleanly and soapfree. It is worth every penny, including the shipping--and as another reviewer noted, beats a trip to the emergency room.
