It's reasonably accurate over multiple readings (+/- 1degF). My 4-yr old really enjoys using it and always wants to take her temperature over and over.

I've only had it about a month and have had to use it a few times already. It has worked great so far. The temperature reading is instant, accurate, and easy to see. I was worried that the hight temperature alarm might wake-up my child if I used it while he was sleeping, but it is soft enough to not disturb a sleeping patient.

I use this thermometer on my little [...], is perfect, only recomendation, keep the battery unistalled until you use it, otherwise lasts a little less. the happy or unhappy face is perfect, quick and practical.
Not acurate

I am sorry to say I had to return this item as it wasn't acurate. While recovering from knee surgery it was important to have an acurate thermometer and I found this one to be as much as two degrees off from the one my PT was using. I did like the size and case.
VERY frustrating

How would you like to be up at 3am, sick and trying to take a temperature and never get any consistent reading. Last night mine were between 97 and 102. And it has never worked well for anyone in any ear. I am so glad that we saved our mercury thermometer. Still don't know what to do for the babies.
Find something other than this product.
Much easier 2008-02-23
I have a very active toddler and getting her to stand still long enough to take her temprature under the armpit is nearly impossible. This is so much easier. There is some room for error in the temp. and you have to make sure you have the thermometer fully seated in the ear but answering the question of whether or not she needs to go to the doctor it's perfect, which is exactly what we needed it for.

We thought it started out working pretty accurately but who knows now. If you take 3 temperatures they will range from 99.1 to 105. Any measurements will never be lower then 99.1 even on healthy people.
