Yikes

This is my second review of this product - the first one didn't make it through.
I can't for the life of me figure out how this product has such a good rating. I was able to get it to walk in place for about a minute and then fall over. Luckily, I tried this out before rapping it as a gift (I returned it).
Everyone in my family loves it!

Everyone in my family loves it, my sister, me and even my parents think he is very fun. For his advanced technology, his multiple modes and moods, his laser tag and his touch sensors, this robotic toy made me happier than ever!
You gotta buy it!!!
Nice TOY ! It's not a real Robot
2007-10-16
Anyone who thinks that they can buy a true robot with true artificial intelligence learning capabilities for $100 needs to rethink buying this.
THIS IS A TOY. It walks (waddles fine) on my hardwood floors. How do you expect a $100 TOY to walk? Toys do not have balance they can't walk like us, or an animal. They have to waddle!
Me and my now 7 yr old son has had a blast with this. When we got it for him for Christmas the roboraptor was almost the same size as my son. He has learned how to control the robot and have it to scare people of all ages. He will hide it where someone will be sitting and then have it roar.
Just an update, 95% of the toys on the market uses a lot of batteries. And when I was younger it said on the box, "Batteries Not Included." as with most toys today.
No it's not a real robot but it is a pretty fun toy! He has enjoyed it very much.
Boring !

We bought this for my 9 yr old son for Christmas. At first it was fun..but the novelty soon wore off. It walks very slowly and is almost impossible for it to turn. The tail is controlled left and right by 2 separate buttons. It is hard to get it going and then its no big deal as the tail moves in jerks.
It is very expensive and looks cooler than it actually is. Don't waste your money on this one.
Wasn't worth the money. Wouldn't recommend for kids >13

This toy walked around the house, turned his head, wagged his tail but other than that, was a real bore and isn't worth $99. This product is worth about $30 and at $99 was a waste of my money.
It still works, hasn't broken, so it's durable, but what's the purpose of this dinosaur? it's so boring and my 8 year old only plays with this as an action figure with other dinosaurs. Not for young kids. It's very boring.
Absolutely loved it!

WASTE OF MONEY

Okay, so I read the reviews that you have already read or will read if you keep scrolling. It doesn't work at all on carpet, the gait is slow and not really that cool on hard surfaces, the moods aren't all that different, it is too expensive for what it is, etc. I thought my super bright, robot-science-dinosaur obsessed son would love it anyway. I thought I just needed to make sure I had high quality batteries and it would work better for us. Well it didn't. He played with it for the first day for an hour, and now it is in a corner of his room unused. My recommendation would be to get a good quality remote control car or spend a little more and get a Nintendo DS Lite (or a little less and get the DS). This toy was a huge disappointment.
Don't believe the positive reviews. I can't see how any adult or child with half a brain could possibly think this toy was all that cool, especially considering the cost. To me, it is similar to those cheap drug store toys that you can get around the holidays at Walgreen's or CVS. They look kind of cool, but they don't really work. At least at Walgreen's or CVS, you will only pay $[...] for it. If you can grab a Roboraptor for that price, it might be worth it, but any more than that and you might as well drop quarters in a shot glass in an aquarium to try to win something. That will keep your interest for just as long as the Roboraptor will!
The life of the Christmas Party

I bought this for my 6-year-old nephew for Christmas and gave it to him at our family party. All the kids loved it. Entertaining for the adults for a while, but hugely entertaining for kids and teens.
Nephew loved it!!!!

I purchased this item for my nephew/godson for Xmas and needless to say he was totally happy with this. We took it out of the box and put the batteries in and it was everything he expected. He now is looking forward to hopefully getting the Robosapien.
Excellent Toy!

Although this arrived bigger than I imagined, it was perfect as a gift for my grandson. This robot performed even better than expected. The movements are even lifelike at times. My grandson loved it, as did my granddaugther, who was upset she did not get one too.
