Worth every penny

Great sound, great at blocking outside noise. It makes your life better when you have the option of blocking out distractions. I don't have direct experience to compare it to competitors, but if you don't get this inner ear headphone, get a competitor, but get one for sure.

No Bass? No Fit Right!!!

These are awesome!! For those who complain about lack of bass you have to fit them and insert them correctly. If you can pull them out of your ears easily they are not in right. I've read about and tried many of these type of phones and every review has a few people complaining about the same thing. If you take the time to fit them and insert them correctly they rock.

Broke in 5 months

The product is made with lightweight wire which pulled free of the iPod plug within 5 months. Etymotic wanted $76 to replace them "under warranty." That's not going to happen.

Handle these with kid gloves

I have owned two pairs of these headphones and the sound is superlative. However, I would like them to last more than a year. Both pairs suddenly died on me, the most recent today (I'm shopping around Amazon for a new pair and thought I'd review what I had).

The headphones do everything the manufacturer says they do. Outside sound is all but nonexistant while wearing these...a real marvel. The sound bears mentioning again. It's that extaordinary. Very natural sounding.

Two pairs dying on me, while I'm being extremely careful in handling them, is unacceptable to me.

I FEEL BAD GIVING THESE A RATING OF 4 STARS BECAUSE THE SOUND ISOLATION IS JUST AMAZING.YOU DONT HEAR ANYTHING WITH THESE IN YOUR EARS.I ALSO HAVE THE ULTIMATE EARS SUPER FI.5 PRO AND THE SUPER FI.EB.NEITHER CAN MATCH THE NOISE BLOCKING THAT THESE DO,YOU HAVE TO HEAR IT TO BELIEVE IT.THE REASON I CANT GIVE THEM A PERFECT RATING IS THAT THEY SOUND SO-SO COMPARED TO THE OTHER BRANDS.THEY REALLY LACK IN BASS DEPT AND ARE NOT AS EASY TO DRIVE (VOLUME) AS THE ULTIMATE EARS.I WOULD GLADY SACRIFICE SOME OF THE AMAZING SOUND ISOLATION FOR A BETTER,RICHER SOUND.

They do exactly what they are advertised to do. They work so good on a noisy airplane that they not only seal out the noise but also the air. This causes a pressure imbalance.

Great product

I really have enjoyed listening to these. They can be a bit uncomfortable at first, but it's something you have to adapt to with in ear headphones. Noise cancelling on them is great, audio quality is great as well.

Great Earphones -- Great Price

I did a lot of research before deciding on these earphones. My primary criteria was noise isolation, music clarity and good bass response. I've had the ER6is for about a month, and these earphones deliver on all counts...and then some! Some of the reviews I read stated that the cord is thin and tangles easily. You have to contend with some tangling when you first put them in your years, but this is a minor inconvenience versus the quality of these earphones. I go to the fitness center 3 times a week, and they have their music blasting over the PA system. With the ER6i, I can hear my MP3 player with minimal outside noise. This is also true on airplanes. I recently tried them on a plane with the same result. They are also very comfortable for long periods of time. When I used traditional headphones or earphones, I would have the volume cranked up to 22 (out of 25) to effectively hear the music from my MP3 player. With the ER6i, I have the volume set at 15 or 16 and can hear just fine. I've heard instruments and nuances in songs that I didn't know existed. I highly recommend these earphones.

All treble and no bass

These headphones are a joke. The give you so much treble and absolutely no bass. It gets old very fast. The original iPod earphones are much better for all around sound with plenty of bass. It is comical how night and day the bass difference is between the two earphones. How could this product get so many good reviews? Are people only into high pitch treble?
