The ultimate in anti-feminist princess tackiness

well, i thought my three year old daughter would really like this because she's a real girly girl, wants to wear make up like the "big girls", etc. however, she is not very interested in this vanity because the makeup is pretend and she bores very quickly. also, it seems that every time she touches the mirror it gets a permanent scuff mark on it, which really annoys her. the stool comes apart easily which really bothers her, and the middle drawer is hard for her to get in and out, and she tends to just pull it out all the way and put it on the floor. otherwise, i think it is fairly well made.
the phrases may be hard for the feminist parent to swallow, but i'm hoping she'll just play with the toy and it won't permanently shape who she is.
now, for the most important thing. we returned the first one we got because the electronics didn't work. my sister assembled the second one at her house and it worked fine, then it didn't work at our house. we realized later that the problem was that we use rechargeable batteries at our house, and THIS PRODUCT DOESN'T WORK WITH RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES IN IT. SO BEFORE YOU RETURN THE WHOLE THING AND GO THROUGH ALL THE GRIEF WE DID, TRY REGULAR BATTERIES.
ALSO, BE WARNED THAT THAT THIS PRODUCT HASN'T BEEN MANUFACTURED IN YEARS, AND IF YOU NEED A PART, IT IS GOING TO BE DIFFICULT TO GET A REPLACEMENT. TRUST ME, WE TRIED. however, the company i bought it from, etoys, was soooo helpful, we were super pleased with their efforts.

My granddaughter loved the vanity. It was very easy to put together. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a child's vanity.
Waste of money! 2008-07-14
To begin, we received the product [from etoys.com] damaged! Though assembly was easy and the toy was appealing to my children, it lacked a certain quality I have come to expect from Disney. The decals were darker than the table top, which looks cheap. What's more, the toy stopped working within several weeks of its assembly!
It was a gift and too much time lapsed to send it back. I will try to contact the vendor, though.

Perfect for Princess'

I ordered this vanity for my 4, almost 5, year old niece. She loved it! It was the hit of Christmas. She sat at it the remainder of the day playing! Some mom's might be offended with the spoken phrases as they are very sterotypical of reinforcing that with makeup application you look pretty. I am 44 and loved it. It is the perfect dream of every little girly girl!

This vanity was the hit of the party. The little girls all gathered around it and put on their "make-ups"! My neice calls it her palace.
It is well-constructed and easy to assemble. This was a great purchase.

My daughter (4) thinks she's THE princess now! This is a really cute item and is a great mix of toy and utility. It fits nicely in her room and isn't like many other talking toys... it's actually a pleasant voice and not too loud.
I definitely recommend this for all the little princesses out there.

When I received this item I was very pleased with the quality of it. The only flaw was the left leg had a large crack on the inside of it. Since the date was too late to return the item, I ended up taping the inside of the leg piece, (which was not visible) My granddaughter, who is 5, was extremely happy with this and immediately started using it, along with my 3 yr. old granddaughter. They were so creative using all the prompts and continued with their own versions.
Beautiful and Entertaining 2007-01-11
My daughter is almost 3 and this was her favorite Christmas present by far. Each accessory has its own place, so it's easy to keep organized. My husband was able to put it together fairly easily. I highly recommend.
