Great audio pick-up even if it is mono. You can conceal it real well and the microphone would simulate a pen.
BUY IT WHEN YOU REALLY NEED IT.

I believe it is great product. I am using it very seldom- my recorder captures sound great from all sources even without the mic. I know that how you program your recorder will have a great impact on the recorded output. I think that is the most important- the recorder.I recommend Olympus WS brand.
It Works 2008-04-20
I bought the Olympus Digital Voice Recorder WS-311M without the Microphone accessory and quickly realized that I needed the ME-15 microphone to cut out a lot of the fuzzy background noise. It picks up across a large room pretty well, too. Both the Digital Voice Recorder and the ME-15 are worth the money.
Good but 2008-04-02
Great little mic, but when played back, sound only comes from 1 speaker, because the plug is mono. The stereo mic is bigger and cost more, but for about $2.00 you can get a mono to stereo plug adapter at radio shack. That makes a big difference, and sound now comes out both speakers

The price is reasonable.
I did not get a good recording where I initially wanted to do it, such as in class or in a piano practice room, but it's probably because of my fault, since in class I couldn't place the microphone right in front of the instructor. Also, the practice room is small so that sound reflects too much. In addition, the rocorder I use is Olympus VN-2100, which might not be a perfect recorder.
Still, I can't find a good digital voice recorder with a microphone that records better than my old SONY Mini-Disk rocorder/player with no external microphone. WHY....?
Great addition for digital recorder 2008-06-14
I own a dozen Olypnus digital recorders and have found this was a very worthwhile addition even though it is a lttle pricey.
decent mic 2008-05-13
A decent mic. I use it in a very noisy environment so its hard for me to really judge sound quality. However, it gets the job done (which is allowing me to keep the recorder in my pocket and attach the mic to my shirt.

This item arrived broken. It simply doesn't work. I needed it before leaving on a trip, and now I'm in a jam. Annoying.
