Great price for some great headphones.

If you're an audiophile, you may want to skip this review and search for the Bose headphones. But, if you're looking for a nice set of noise-canceling headphones, look no further. I had an older pair of Philips and I needed to replace them. The HN 110's are an improvement over the previous models. The sound is great and noise-canceling feature is effective. They also fold up nicely and are very compact. They aren't a budget-buster either (Best Buy had these listed at the original retail price). I would highly recommend these headphones.

These headphones do have noise cancelling, although you may be underimpressed with the feature. I have found it useful on a plane, I feel it took about 10 % of the noise away, which although little, I did appreciate. The sound is muffled though. I have to press on the headphones in order for it to make a clicking sound (not mechanical, more a sort of electronic sound) and good sound will come through. If I dont keep adding pressure however, I hear another click and the sound is rather muffled again. Hard to explain, but what I end up with is a pair of headphones that pair acceptable noise-cancelling with sub-level sound quality.

I have had these headphones for about 7 months and have used them on at least 3 trips to and from Europe. Overall, I have been very pleased with the performance of these headphones. They are reasonably comfortable and do reduce cabin noise during flight. The sound is very good although they seem a little weak on the high end (treble). The travel pouch is nice and includes an airline plug adapter. A good value at the time for around $35.00.

I was in no postition to buy a $300 pair of headphones for the occational flight. So, I tried to do my homework and bought these for under $50. I flew roundtrip to Vegas from the East Coast and could not believe how loud a plane can be. When you wear these headphones they really do cancel out most of the surrounding noise.
They are well worth the money and the techy geeks say the specs of the sound system get the job done. They are all I need.
I'm buying a pair for the wife when we go to Europe this year. With a splitter and a laptop or IPOD you are lovin it.
Noise Cancelling Headphones

It's awesome, so comfortable and fantastic sounds. I took it to germany and it was like walking on a calm day. The Sounds of the plane and the trains in germany were reduced to a minimum and it made the trip so much more enjoyable. The Bose Headphones I hear are nice, but I'm poor and don't wanna pay $350 for 'em.
Uncomfortable fit, noise canceling so-so

Philips' SBCHN110 Noise Reduction Headphones is for active travellers who need headphones that handle double duty. Long flights can be brutal without a good set of headphones, but headphones can take a lot punishment on the plane. These foldable headphones will fit in any large pocket or small bag comfortably. The 3.5-6.35mm adaptor connects to most audio devices and ear cushions give you better bass response and more comfortable listening. 3.5-6.35mm adaptor connects to all types of audio devices Carrying pouch protects headphones when not in use Electronics are integrated to eliminate external boxes Foldable headband makes headphones easy to carry around Includes airline adapter, storage pouch and battery
Great headphones for the money

I ordered the unit 5 days before my long trip from Seattle to Istanbul. It arrived in 3 days and it turned out to be a great investment. It really cuts down the roar of the wind and engine noise during flight at least by 60%. There is no hiss or other noticible noise when turned on. The only problem is it gets a little uncomfortable after 2 hours of wearing it. The ear cups are a little small, so, the ears seem to touch the interior, but that is not a big discomfort. If you have snall ears (a pettite lady for instance) it would be perfect. The fact that they fold neetly and fit in the provided pouch makes it easy to stuff in your carry on.
I am glad I purchased them and I will take them with me on all long flighs.
great headphones

Great everything on these headphones.... the ONLY possible thing I would warn about these specific headphones is that after a few hours of having them on your head, unless your head is very small, they start to squeeze your head just a little bit. I just give my ipod a break for a bit and take the headphones off for a little while and everything is fine but just thought I'd include that.
A good value

These were my first purchase of noise-canceling headphones and I've had them about 6 weeks. The manufacturer claims 75% noise reduction; I find it closer to 50%, but even that makes a huge difference when riding on a bus or working out on a treadmill. I recently had surgery and took these to the hospital. They worked wonders blocking out the moaning and cart rattling and other ambient noise that goes on day and night. Most of the time I have the NC off, but there have been a few times I've left it turned on all night. I've used two batteries in six weeks. Construction seems adequate. They're meant to be lightweight and therefore can be abused, but I've had no problem with them. They fit snugly over the ears and I can wear them 3-4 hours without discomfort. Sound quality is fine. Unless you have special needs, I'd recommend these to anyone. At a price of $30-$35, I wish I'd bought them sooner.
What a Deal!

I was hoping to get a good deal on headphones that would simply cover my ears to reduce noise, and found these with the active noise canceling. I could not be happier. The anti-sound emitted by these headphones removes almost all superfluous background noise and makes it easier for me to concentrate on what I really want to hear. The sound quality is great, there is no buzzing or other sound when the noise canceling feature is activated, and even when it is off, the sound dampening, just from the ear-covering phones is wonderful. I have dreadlocks, which makes it harder for me to find headphones that fit properly and comfortably over my head, but these had a wide adjustable range that enabled them to fit perfectly.
Add the fact that it is a better price than most other active noise canceling headphones, and these things can't be beat! Worth every penny.
