Great headset for Home Use! 2008-08-18
I bought this headset for my husband that stays home with our baby. I thought it would make it easier to keep in touch with people while getting things done around the house. He loves it! Most wireless headsets are made for use at the office, so they are at least 3 times the price of this headset. The range is good...he can go anywhere in the house or go outside and sit on the porch and talk with no issues. It is easy to hook up and use. The sound is great. The person you are talking to can't tell that you're using a headset...it is very clear! The only thing that isn't perfect is that you can hear yourself talk in the headset. It is a minor thing that you do get used to, so it wouldn't deter me from buying it. For the price, it is great! I would highly recommend it.

Dave's 10sec Review- what was I thinking 2008-06-26
I was willing to overlook the bulky form factor because I really wanted an over-the-head style BT headset for long conversations at work. I was willing to pay a lot money for the BT headset. I was NOT willing to accept lousy sound quality for my callers, which is what this gave. If you have a blackberry be warned that this headset will fight with the BB's echo cancellation, causing weird, delayed audio. Once I figured that out (I've never seen that before with 4 others headsets) my sound was better, but my voice to the caller never got past 'its alright', and 'what was that?' Mom always said say something nice, so, uh, nice charger. Returned it.

Not ready for prime time 2008-05-09
Summary: I would love to give this product a good review, I think the company and its products have great potential, but this product is not ready for prime time. Don't buy it.

Details: I will start by saying we have much familiarity with this company: we own this B100 headset for a land line, and two other VXI headsets for our cell phones. VXI's return and repair policy is fairly good; we've sent our phones in a total of four times now (yes, one phone went twice) with never a hassle about it. We pay the shipping there, and they pay the return shipping.

The main problem with the B100 is that it is static-y. I am told that the person on the other end of the phone isn't hearing what I hear most of the time, but since i participate in conference calls, this concerns me. I hear this static even when i am right next to the base. Also, I sound like i'm standing in a tin can, both in my own ear and, to a lesser extent, to the other party. The user manual suggests that on my side I can reduce the ear piece volume to compensate, but ... hello... that would reduce the volume by which I hear other people. Also, I've occasionally had trouble picking up calls, etc.

I sent the product for repair, received the same headset, which was somewhat improved but still not working well enough to warrant the money. And by the time I got through all of that, I was outside the return period for Amazon. ... So ... i cannot recommend this product. Best of luck in your search for the right solution.

Best Desktop Headset 2008-03-18
I have used several different headsets for my voice control software and none were as good as this one. It was easy to install, I can walk all around the building and still hear music playing on my PC. Sound is clear and headset is comfortable.

The only drawback is that you only have the option of the over the head headset.

so far, so good 2007-12-26
Bought this for someone who lives on their cordless phone and either squashes it between neck and shoulder or works one handed while she talks.
She's low-tech so this looked like the ticket.
So far it has been great. It's comfortable, clear, easy, and today she wore it out to get the mail (60ft?) and it didn't drop. So no complaints here - it was plug & play and it works as advertised. A bit pricey but since it is performing so well it looks like money well spent. I'd give it 5 stars but it's only been a few days out of the box - let's see how durable it is....

Well, it been a few months and it still works great. Stays in place, clear as a bell, no problems.

Don't know how I lived without it 2007-10-16
I really don't know what I did before I had this product. Here's what you need to know:

1. It's very comfortable. I walk around my house all day with it on, and forget it's there till it rings. I can even bend over, pick stuff up, etc., and it stays in place, but is totally comfortable.

2. It works great within about 60 feet of the base. Beyond that, it gets a bit scratchy, and past 75 feet or so, it isn't really usable. But that gives me a pretty long tether.

3. The sound that comes through to me, and the sound to those I'm talking to is as clear as an old wired handset. In short, perfectly clear.

4. I've had it for 2 1/2 years now and since the day I set it up (quickly and easily), have not had any problems with it. I just wish I could dial out from it. That requires a return to the base phone.

Highly recommended for anyone who needs to move around while on the phone for long periods!

Use it with a cell phone 2007-09-08
The B100 was purchased for use at home, where it gave disappointing results -- I should say ONLY after it was revealed that the base unit was defective - right out of the box.

However, customer service was unusually folksy. Blueparrott acts like a small company which has not yet learned to outsource its telespecialists to the outskirts of Mumbai. I think I spoke to an actual New Englander who told me - yes - it did appear that my base unit wasn't working. His sad advice was for me to return my device to the store. Amazingly, I complied without further struggle, got a new unit (which did work) and began experimenting with my new BT100 headset. Truthfully, I could tell, nearly at once, that this was no solution for a home phone setup. Bluetooth 1.2, inside, is crackly, gamey, unpredictable, and will fall apart in the presence of a strong WiFi signal or an active microwave oven.

As an afterthought, I decided to pair this ungainly headset to my Palm Treo 700w. That, I must say, was a relationship destined for better things.

I had decided to bring the headset with me to work yesterday, as recent attempts to communicate with friends, family, and associates, while out on the street (or even in a noisy Starbuck's) proved nearly futile. The Treo seems to feature almost NO noise reduction, and no cupping of the hands, no burrowing into a corner of the room, can save this.

But yesterday evening, in the midst of rush-hour traffic, with groups of laborers screaming their drunken songs on the sidewalks, radios with subwoofers blasting nearby, I paired my Blueparrott to my Treo and experienced the incredible sensation of being able to carry on a conversation with someone at my office, right there on the breezy sidewalk. There was no sense on her end that I was in a noisy environment, and I heard her as if the headset were wired to the phone. It was confirmation that the professional noise reduction on this device is real and very effective.

I even saved a long out-going message on corporate voice mail and listened to the quality at home. The sound of merry-revelers, screaming only a few feet away, was not evident -- only my clear speaking voice. I was most impressed.

And - the headset is comfortable. The gooseneck mic boom is great for precise adjustment.

All in all, this is a fine solution for people who simply need to communicate on the open road. I'd get the travel charger. The base unit and home use? Don't bother. Get a Plantronics 900mHz solution instead.

Great Clarity for Both Parties 2007-09-07
This headset provides terrific clarity on both of the parties on the call; people can't even tell that I am using a headset (as long as the mike is positioned correctly, which is easy to do). I'm very satisfied

Works perfectly with my Razr 2007-09-07
I actually own 3 of these now. 1 in my office, bedroom and car. I have paired them with my Motorola Razr and they work perfectly. Sound is good, reliable and comfortable. I can talk for hours (well, the battery would probably run out), with no comfort issues. I am not sure about the battery life as i always put mine back on the charger. I can say with confidence i have only had good luck with this headset.
