Works Great 2007-11-29
This is a nice little unit for those of us trying to get through the agony of sit-up conditioning. The mounting couldn't be simpler, and it's flexible on door width, positioning, etc. I tried it on a few doors (I have a VERY old house) and found that the tighter fit of the door, the better.

If the door is loose in the jam, then the unit will flex the door when you use it. I also found that positioning along the length of the door is also a factor - it seems more stable when positioned toward one end of the door or the other.

I did not have the problem of it falling down due to gravity like another poster, but door I had it on only gets opened/closed < 10 times per day.

Ditto Gravity Works 2007-11-01
The fold up feature simply doesn't work. If you don't mind it dragging the ground when the door is used or not, then you will like it.

Recommend buy 2007-09-25
I just got this product (Sep 07), and am very happy with it. I was concerned about buying it due to one reveiw that stated it was top heavy and didn't stay up when in the storage position. However, upon examination, there is a bolt in the hinge that can be tightened until it stores as you want it. This product was everything I was hoping it would be. Now, I have no excuses to get my stomach looking good. I will add that you will want to determine where you want to use this, and ensure you have enough room. Hallways don't work, and furniture can get in your way. However, I'm sure you have enough doors in your house to find one with enough room.

Gravity works 2007-05-07
The fold-up feature of this bar looks nice on paper, but doesn't work. When it's folded up it is top-heavy and ends up falling onto the floor, making it difficult to open and close the door.

Great item and good price! 2007-03-12
This bar is great when used properly, i.e. make sure the door is closed when you use it. I was surprised how well it worked, much better than relying on someone to hold your feet while doing situps or cruches.

I really love it 2008-06-01
I recommend it because it folds up and away yet is still very accesible. Best thing I've done for my abs- Basic situps are great and should be done with crunches in my opinion. Buy this item I reccomend it highly.

Not for those with small feet 2008-03-20
My wife bought this and when it arrived she discovered that someone with "small" (women's size 9) feet simply can't get the required leverage for the bar to be effective. The bar is too far away from the door and her feet just float around. It didn't come with any assembly instructions but since there are only two pieces I'm pretty sure we put it together correctly. Nice concept but we'll be returning it.

does what it is supposed to 2008-02-13
Works just fine for me; no problems with the fold up feature as others have had. It is a simple concept that works. Some assembly was required--just attach the bar to the bracket with a screwdriver and wrench and pliers. I even did it with just my fingers, though it could be tightened a bit. Do your sit ups and then fold it up agains the door and you're good to go. Recommended.

A Wrench Works 2008-02-04
This product works just fine. For those complaining that it doesn't remain in the upright position, note that there is a nut and bolt that can be very easily adjusted with a wrench to tighten the torsion on the device.

Great Tool 2008-01-25
This is a great thing to have! I have always had trouble doing situps sliding my feet under my couch but not anymore. It is very comfortable and the fact that it folds up I don't have to worry about stubbing my pinky toe and throwing a chair across the room.
