These are beautiful Tabla Drums with a beautiful distinctive "OM" design on each drum. The bayan has the OM design hand stamped into the drum and then painted a lovely golden color. The tabla drum has the OM actually cut out of the drum so it will never fade with the pegs going up and down over time. We are the only manufacturers of this drum and have limited availability due to the hand craftsmanship of the drums.*******************************What is a Tabla? A set of two small tuned drums used in North Indian music. The left hand plays the larger of the two drums, the "Bayan", which has a lower pitch. After striking the drum with the tips of the fingers, the note is "bent" up by pressing down with the heel of the hand, tightening the drum head. The right hand plays elaborate patterns on the smaller drum, the "Tabla," which has a higher, fixed pitch. Accessories: The drum comes with a tuning hammer, a soft carrying bag, 2 base rings & 2 covers (colors & styles of the rings/covers may vary from the photograph but we'll try to send you the best we have).
