Customer Reviews
Awesome outlet!
2008-01-27
Wow, I forgot how heavy these things can be. A word of caution, never, NEVER drop this on your foot! This is my second one of these. The first one was an ACP. This one has more outlets and cost less. I love it. It works just as advertised. There are places for those huge power box plugs. The outlets are spaced well. If you're looking for a good one, this one is great!
Cyberpower has a winner

I like the fact with different plug heads this battery backup surge protecter have good spacing.Good Stuff!
Way better than APC
2008-01-11
I am a lot more impressed with this battery backup than with the APC model that I received and had to return because it was faulty. This unit seems just as sturdy, was less money and works well.
Cyberpower Backup Battery
2007-11-12
Two things about this battery backup that I find problematic: When there is an episode, the battery doesn't just beep once, it beeps intermittantly over about a minute even if the episode has passed. Also, the software regularly incurs a "runtime" error that disables the backup monitor.
UPS supply
2007-11-07
The customer reviews at Amazon's site turned me to this product. It works ok and no problems. Did have a slight odor when used for awhile. Queried Cyberpower and they confirmed because they noticed it also, they offered to supply new one. They said the odor would go away and it did..
FYI,The odor is like a fluorescent ballast going bad or hot transformer smell. I was an Electronic Tech for years and am acquainted with this odor. Nothing was warm or hot with the unit and I have had no problems. I recommend this unit and certainly appreciated the prompt response from Cyberpower
Runs Hot
2008-07-03
It works okay but runs quite hot even under minimal load, on AC power, which means it's something of a power waster. The equivalent APC models stay cool by comparison.
no brainer, it works
2008-03-18
It has a non-annoying buzz when the power supply is off and keep modem, router, Voip boxes and printer working for the time being.
Just what I needed
2008-02-23
This unit says it'll power my PC for 17 minutes. Of course, I shut down the moment power is lost (it'll auto shut down in 5 minutes). The unit is then used to keep power on my cable phone and router. I can go portable at that time. I suspect that I have at least an hour of power (just a guess) with the cable phone and router.
If you like info during an outage, get the unit with an LCD readout. This one requires your computer to tell you battery levels. The LCD does not.
If this unit lasts 5 years like my last unit, I'll give it 5 stars.
Just Not Enough
2008-02-20
After getting this item, and thinking the 8 jacks would support my system, I plugged it in and got a wiring fault indication. I hired an Electrician to find the problem, and several hundred dollars later it was fixed. After that, I plugged in and low and behold I get a big long beep. It indicated overload. I unplugged a few things. A few things more. I unplugged everything but my CPU and monitor (Mac Pro and 30" Cinema Display). I gave a support ticket to Cyberpower and they told me I needed to upgrade to the top of their line. I cited the fact that the two combined items were just 400watts maximum, and they gave me some line about how the draw on the 30" display was more like 1000watts...not what apple says. Then I said "If I can plug in the box and get them to run, is there a risk of damage because you say the unit is underpowered?" They told me yes.
SO...cost of the item out the window, I could have gotten the circuit test for about $10 with some equipment from the hardware store, and now they tell me I have to buy another $200 unit. Half a thousand later I am still not convinced from their technical support that I should be running just my CPU and monitor on these even then!
Don't count the sockets. Unless you are running your modem and router and any peripherals by squirrel power assist, you can't expect to plug more than two things into this baby without risk of damage...and if that isn't the case, they need to examine their support staff regimen.
This gets relegated to charging my laptop battery. What a waste.
Excellent for Desktop systems
2008-02-02
This is the second Cyberpower UPS I have owned in 10 years. This UPS not only kept my system running through power blips but also cleans up the power I receive form the utility, extending my desktops life, I believe.
