This blue tooth device is really good. I purchased it based on reviews at Amazon and as always I am satisfied with the product. The one I got earlier had a connection break problem at random times but Amazon replaced that one and now it is working great !!!

Works but not as well as I'd hoped

This is the first Bluetooth device I've had. I got it due to the recent legislation in CA requiring handsfree devices to talk on the phone while driving.

I find it clunky to wear and am told, often, by the people I'm speaking with the the sound quality is not very good.

Setup was easy, battery life is so so and I would recommend a friend try something else.

Great Bluetooth

The Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth is comfortable to wear and provides excellent quality communication. The styling makes this product less obvious than most other bluetooth devices. Volume controls are easily acessible. Range is good. I can walk to the next room, or fill my car with gas without getting out of range. Battery life is exceptional. This product has met all of my expectations and needs.

Perfect if you have two phones

I have a Jabra headset for my work PDA/phone, and it works very well. But, with the new CA law regarding phone use in the car, I needed one which could switch between two phones. This does just that and it does it remarkably well.
Although you cannot switch while in a conversation very easily (you have to hold the call button until it beeps twice to release the call to the phone mic/speaker and then could pick up the call, but have no easy way to switch back), it handles the obvious uses well. If one phone starts ringing, the headset correctly selects it so you can pick up the call - perfect.
The headset is comfortable for very long calls, with a good balance on the ear.
The microphone stalk is not as movable as the product brief suggests, and it does not fold up per se (sticks out no matter where positioned). Folding up the mic does not power off, which is a shame, although the battery life seems really good.
Sound quality is good on the speaker and appears to be good on the other end, although I have not heard the other side to know for sure.
Only downside vs. the Jabra is that it does not have a USB charger (small cord to plug into laptop when traveling), so you have to drag along the transformer.

Found Plantronics while searching book review

Found the Plantronics Voyager 510 bluetooth by accident while trying to find the book review section. Had just finished a great read
"Perfect on Paper" By Maria Murnane and wanted to tell others to enjoy a fun reading experience. Purchased the 510 & case. Had in past purchased three different bluetoth units, 2 of which were top of the line exspensive units, none fit my ear. All 3 either felt like they would fall out or they actually did. A pleasant surprise, the 510 fits comfortably, I forget it's there, the volume is better/louder, it works every time and the price was 50% better than quoted by others.

I am super pleased with both products available from Amazon; the Plantronics 510 and the book " Perfect on Paper".

Everyone should own one of these

What better brand to buy for a bluetooth then the original maker of the office headsets? This earpiece is not only the most comfortable I've ever worn the sound quality is fantastic. I bought one for my 65yr old father & he loves it. He had bought a Samsung one that kept falling off his ear so he was really discouraged about the new law passing, but now hes a pro with this one! Amazon has the most competitive price I found when I googled this item as well.

I bought the version of this that comes with a USB adapter. My girlfriend lives in Canada and I live in Oregon, so calling one another can get really pricey. With this, we use Google Talk and can chat as much as we want! It's fantastic!

Did we get a dud??

So we purchased this headset because of all the mostly wonderful raving reviews. For the first hour when my husband called me it sounded perfect.... I didn't even know that he had it on. I breathed a sigh of relief. Then he calls me later on and it is extremely choppy... the next day he is barely discernable and everytime the phone rings, I can't even hear him.

We are confused... it sounded perfect and then it went kaput. He didn't drop it! The only thing that he can come up with is that he was sweating because we were having a heat wave in NYC and maybe that messed it up. The sweat; that is!

So I called Amazon, they sent me a new one which we will be trying out today. I even called Plantronics at Amazons' suggestion just to make sure that it wasn't an issue on our end. The verdict is that their customer service is exceptional! Very helpful and took the time to understand my concerns. We reset and resync'ed and still it sounds horrible. Our phones are the Sprint Samsung Instincts. Plantronics said that they do not have them on their list and they are still in the beginning testing phase and that may be the issue.

So, I gave it 3 stars for the first hours of use. I am hoping that we truly received a dud and that it isn't a phone compatibility issue or sweat for that matter. Will update soon!

Well, I have use several plantronics headsets, all the in ear only fit.
They have all been great, light, secure fit.
When I got the voyager, I immediately found a problem fitting it in my ear. It uses ear cushions different that the others I have used.
It also did not feel secure since it also goes over and behind the ear when I put sunshades on. As far as communications, they were fine. I just wish I could find a headset that had the technology of the voyager and just in the ear and secure, not also over the ear.

excellent bluetooth headset

Pro:
1. Very clear; I opened all of the car windows while driving on the freeway, I can still hear clearly through the headset. The person who was talking to me can also hear me very well.
2. Long battery life; So far I've only charged it once when I first received it couple of weeks ago. But perhaps it's also because I don't use it very often (only on the road), and I'd turned it off when I'm at home or office.

Con:
Well, not sure if it counts as a con, the button for turning on/off the headset is on the top, and it's pretty difficult to press (plus there's not much of a "bounce" when one presses it) especially if it's already on your ear. But I guess most people probably don't need to turn on and off the headset very often. The button for picking up calls is very easy to press though, so that's a plus.

Overall I like this headset very much as it performs very well, and it's comfortable to wear (although a little difficult to put it on at first).
