The Earthway 80-pound semi-assembled tow spreader features a high-volume, 1900-cubic-inch hopper with the ability to hold up to 80 pounds of seed, fertilizer, or ice-melting product. Its large, 10-inch, pneumatic wheels allow the spreader to roll over tough lawns. It features a patented "Ev-N-Spred" 3-hole drop system to ensure even fertilization. Its controls, located high on the handle, allow for precise release rates, while deep treads on the 10-inch poly wheels prevent slipping. Its commercial-quality gearbox includes enclosed gears for years of trouble-free use. The spreader comes fully assembled with an adjustable handle. It is designed for use with full-size garden tractors.

Used this for 5 minutes (at 1 MPH) and the gear box came apart, and the spreader tipped over. This unit is no more than a poorly constructed toy. That's why they only give you a 90 day warranty and tell you not to tow it above 3 MPH. Save your money and buy a unit with metal gears (Craftsman or others). Avoid!, Avoid!, Avoid!!!!

On the bright, side Amazon was great. They will pick up the piece of junk and even pay the return shipping. Now that's what I call customer service!!

Good for light duty suburban use. On/Off control far too short to reach handily from tractor seat.

Made in Indiana! Much better quality than the Chinese Agri-fab I bought last year. The Earthway has bigger gears and easier to adjust control. The Agri-fab gears stripped after about one hour. I use my Earthway on 1 1/2 acre. If you have more land, I recommend the Earthway 2170T.

Though I haven't used it yet, I'm impressed by the construction. I've had the other "pull behind" spreader and it only lasted two summers. I'm only using it for a 1/2 acre lawn and this one looks like it will last many years.

Over all its agood spreader, it comes with a spreader sheet to help you put down the corect amount of product. I was dissapointed in the size. Working on a 30 + acre facility I only wish I had got something bigger. Its easy to put together and for a home owner it would be great.
