Great Solid Bed Frame

We needed a platform bed frame without a headboard since I bought a cool Moroccan style headboard that I wanted to use. This was the perfect solution for a simple, sturdy bed. I had a frame from IKEA before this one, but it had a headboard and the slats under the mattress would bow and fall through the frame. This bed will not have that problem! We put this bed together in under and hour including the sheets! It's sturdy and quiet! Overall a great buy! We haven't painted it yet, but it still looks great with the raw pine wood color. We didn't have any issue with the knots in the wood because it's real wood! Of course it's going to have knots. No wood repairs and only one tiny splinter to speak of. Would buy this frame again in a heartbeat!

Bed is good just had issues getting hardware

After receiving the bed without any hardware or instructions, I finally got someone from company to send the hardware and instructions. So the review for the bed itself is good and thankfully Room Doctor Furniture company was very gracious and helpful.
Amazon was not very helpful but Room Doctor was good to work with and I would do business with them again, just not through Amazon.

Well Worth the Money Spent

I had an excellent experience concerning this bed. It came as promptly as I was told it would, and is holding up and very sturdy. The assembly instructions are a piece of cake, and though I struggled a little by myself because of the weight of the items, I put the thing together with ease. I did also struggle to get the boxes into my home, they came while I was away and were pretty heavy with all the wood.

However, as soon as I assembled it and laid on my mattress, I never wanted to get up again. This bed is extremely sturdy -- I'm a pretty hefty woman at 5-foot-9 and 255lbs, and it supports me very well every night! Overall, very good and stable.

The pine colour is not bad either -- in fact, after assembly I was content to just leave the pine raw as it looked beautiful with the rest of my room's decor. My roommate, who swears by a traditional boxspring-mattress set marveled at the beauty of the pine and didn't want to get off of my bed. Hahaha!

If I had to choose, I'd buy this all over again and recommend it to anyone looking for a platform bed.

great bed

This bed was easy to put together. I'm a girl and I had no problems setting this up on my own. For the price you pay, this is a steal. Has good hieght. I'm using it with a 12 inch memory foam mattress and love it.

Great product for the price - very sturdy and easy to assembly (15-30 min., even 1 person can assembly it easily)!!! Outstanding customer service (if you need help or replacement pieces)! Fast shipment. Very pleased with the purchase, plus it has a pleasant pine scent.

Product arrived complete in excellent condition, few days before the estimated delivery date, thanks to fedex tracking information provided by the seller.

Available assembly instructions is minimal yet good enough considering how easy it was to put this together. From the time I opened the box it just took 15 minutes to be fully assembled and ready to use. I have bought and assembled several such things in the past like Audio shelves, book shelves, entertainment centers etc.. none as easy as this.

As far the bed it self, it is all solid wood, light weight, easy to move around, very stable and a quality piece of engineering. Highly recommended, value for money.

bed isnt really the best deal

i bought this bed for my 6 year old and thought we would have fun painting it.. just like the 1 star review which i didnt see at the time.. yes, splinters are very very possible. anyway, my son didn't sleep in this bed that much when one of the pieces of wood which go down the center broke, then another.. the frame is fine but the middle not so good.. i think i would have been better off for the money having just bought the box spring then having gone this route..

In 2005 I bought this platform for myself in Queen size, knowing that I would be moving in 2007/2008 and would likely purchase new bedroom furniture for my new home from Pottery Barn. Well, I've moved... and given the solid classic design of this platform, I've decided to spend money on other furniture items instead and purchase a second platform for my daughter, both stained in Mahogany to match the Pottery Barn pieces. Looks lovely with under-bed baskets, easily assembled and disassembled. In fact, while my other furniture traveled with a moving company, the disassembled Queen-size platform fit comfortably in my Subaru Legacy so I could quickly have my bed in my new home. Why spend $2,000 for two beds when I am quite satisfied with these platforms at < $400 ?
