Editorial Review
About this Sawzall Model The Orbital Super Sawzall reciprocating saw from Milwaukee has a high-powered 13 amp motor that provides fast, efficient orbital cutting action. Its variable speed trigger provides 0-3,000 spm, at a 1-1/4-inch stroke. This model has a counter-balanced design that gives you exceptionally smooth operation with less vibration to throw off your precision.
The 6536-21 is packed with features that make it powerful, versatile, and convenient to use. Its gear protecting clutch permits the saw to withstand impacts, which will make your tool last longer, even with a few accidental drops or kicks in the workshop. The Quik-Lok blade clamp provides fast and easy blade changes for less downtime between tasks.
This Sawzall kit comes complete with two Super Sawzall blades and a handy carrying case to keep it all together and organized.
Applications
The 6536-21 is the perfect choice for any task that requires a reciprocating saw; and depending on your Sawzall blade choice, you'll find that it cuts easily through wood and plastics, metal, pipes, and even wood with nails in it.
Choosing a Sawzall Blade
When selecting a Sawzall blade, first consider your project. Each Sawzall blade style has a series of icons on its packaging -- and these icons demonstrate the materials which the blades are best-suited to cut. There's a separate icon for a variety of materials, including wood, plastics, wood with nails, and metal.

Next, decide on the proper blade shape to suit your project. Sloped blades are best for plunge cutting, straight blades are ideal for edge cutting, and scroll blades are used for cutting curved or circular shapes.
Finally, be sure to pick a blade with the proper Teeth Per Inch (TPI). See the chart below for more information.

super sawzall 13 amp breaks in 30 minutes
2007-05-12
I took it out of the box put in a metal cutting blade and 30 minutes into cutting up metal sheeting it lost all its power to cut because I had purchased it from Amazon. com I had no where to return the brand new saw. I took it to a Milwaukee service center. I went to a pawn shop and bought a $60 sawzall and finished the job I had to complete. 2 weeks later I got my brand new sawzall back. I keep using the pawn shop specail because it works and driving back and forth to the repair shop wastes alot of a day.
Milwaukee makes a great saw

What can i say? This saw is great! I am a carpenter by trade and i do everything from frame to finish, to remodel work. As we all know Demolition is where a reciprocating saw really shines. I'll take a milwaukee anyday. (the only other brand i've used is a dewalt... forget about it.)
Powerful, heavy, reliable.

I bought mine USED from the local Home Depot rental dept., which should tell you how much abuse it no doubt received before I layed hands on it. Why you should buy this saw:
1) Variable speed control means you can slow the blade down for metal cutting; if you attempt to cut most metals at full speed, the teeth on ANY manufactur's metal, demolition, etc. blade WILL wear down almost immediately. This includes Bosch, Milwaukee, DeWalt, Irwin, etc. blades.
2) Easy-change blade chuck is just that, plus you can twist chuck open and let flaming hot used blade drop to floor with satisfying "plunk," then insert fresh blade.
3) Orbital setting (do not use when cutting metal or when cuts need to be precise) increases cutting speed--very handy for demo work.
4) 13 amps: this kind of power insures longer tool life and less operator fatigue. Look at the power ratings on the other sawzalls--this is a serious tool.
5) Other than a blade occassionally popping out of the easy-change chuck (don't worry; it doesn't go very far), this tool has performed with complete reliability for the past three years or so, plus whatever time it endured at Home Depot's rental department.
Delayed product and poor quality

The Milwaukee Sawzall appeared to be a factory second. The blade clamp was rotated about thirty degree. This resulted in a delay of over two weeks before I had a usable Sawzall. This was not the first delay I have had from Amazon. It will probably be the last.
Spectacular!

When something does it's job flawlessly it makes everything look easy. This Milwaukee is top rated in every periodical review I read and after using it I can see why. It really is not as big or heavy as I expected. But it bites through wood and metal like a hot knife through butter. If you need a sawzall buy this one with complete confidence. You won't regret your investment.
bought this for the hubby

Hey men and their tools huh ? Ok, the husband says he wants this so I bought it for him for his birthday. Now on most days, it is hard to keep his attention when I talk but if we touch on the subject Sawzall, then I have his undivided attention, lol. This saw still is working and I don't hear any swear words, so I think he is pleased with it.
Not the Sawzall of yore...

I am a heavy Sawzall user, having used-up two Milwaukee Sawzalls. I had great luck with Milwaukee Sawzall number one and two, so when two wore out and died after a long, useful life, I saw this Orbital Super Sawzall on Amazon and purchased my third Sawzall.
I got about 3-weeks of use out of it and absolutely hate it! The Orbital feature is not all that great, and the selector switch to go between Orbital and reciprocating is designed poorly - my switch never worked easily and broke completely after 3-weeks, rendering the saw pretty much useless.
I am an avid tool junky and they get heavy use, having restored many vintage cars, remodeled (GUTTED) two houses, and as an owner of rental property. But I may never buy a Milwaukee Sawzall again after this experience.
All I ask for is a competent reciprocating saw, I don't need it to orbit or rotate or do any tricks...this saw does not fit the bill. I have had great luck with my Bosch jig saw and Compound-Miter-Chop saw that I will probably expand my Bosch tool set and get my next "Sawzall" from them...

We demand real work from our tools on real building sites. We purchased this tool and found frustrations quickly. If you don't hold the shoe adjustment lever closed with your hand it will vibirate loose and release the pivot shoe continously. We were demolishing a roof and it lasted all but four hours and then began "slipping" full time. The motor would run but the blade action lost all power. We had it replaced with another and it's cutting action began slipping right out of the case. We were cutting through 3/4" buffalo board and 3/4" pine siding, yet it kept slipping. We returned it to. The 20 year old Milwaukee sawzalls came out again and continued the job! I don't know if I will buy anymore Milwaukee tools because this has sure tainted our past success with Milwaukee tools.

WTF! USED SAW THREE TIMES AND IT NOW WON'T CUT. IT SEEMS TO HAVE LOST IT'S SAWING ACTION.I CUT SOME EXHAUST PIPE'S THEN USED IT ON A FEW WOODEN PALLETS.THE ONLY GOOD THING IS THAT I PURCHASED IT
WITH IN THE LAST MONTH AND AMAZON IS GOING TO REPLACE IT.
Versatile tool does almost everything right

I bought this sawzall specifically for 2 projects. The first project was knocking down a wall in my home and the second was cutting an aluminum lip off of several aluminum windows to install retrofit vinyl windows.
Throughout both projects, I was amazed at the power AND grace this tool displayed. It's easy to grip and handles well. It's incredibly smooth for this type of tool.
For comparison's sake, I've used an older Milwaukee sawzall and a DeWalt recip saw. This particular model tops both of these that I've used in the past in all aspects.
Here are a couple of things that I learned about this tool. First, it's so much more powerful than others I've used that at times it easily could have "gone too far" with whatever I was working on. This much power requires more control on the operator's part. Second, I wish I would have spent the extra $20 on the next model up mainly for the dial that controls the speed. I say this because when cutting aluminum I had to go slowly or suffer with melted aluminum on the blade teeth. Going slowly with just the trigger was difficult to maintain a constant slow speed for a long period of time.
I DIDN'T buy the next model up because I thought that having a rotating handle could be a durability issue. I can't state that as a fact but just as a common sense thought.
Anyway, this was an excellent investment in a versatile saw that will see lots of varied use around the house for years to come.
