Good function - little fragile clip for map light.

Pros: The charger works well. It allows you to plug in (piggy back) the phone's wired headset and ear phones while charging takes place. There is even a built in LED map light.

Cons: There is (was) a built in clip on the side so you can clip the map light to something. It broke off before I could even try it. The broken clip did not degrade the function of the charger, which is why I purchased the device.

Overall a good charger for the money.

I didn't try to use until a couple of months after I bought it. Well, the little light works, but the charger doesn't. I expected more from a Sony product... if it is a Sony product. Of course, it's past the 30 day return. Considering the other reviews too, you'r gonna be lucky if yours works.

Very impressed. Easy to use and nice features. Power light to let you know you are connected and a map light that toggles on and off. I have owned it for about two months and I really like the quality and value.

I bought this for my daughter for Christmas and am pleased with it. We were not able to find one locally to fit her phone - not even at the AT&T store! This charger seems to work well and the light is an extra bonus.

I love it , it has a night light that you can turn on and off as needed so you dont have to bother anyone driving, while trying to hook up your phone, map reading, or it can be used for several other reasons.
I have had no problems connecting or disconnecting the phone from the charger. It works as described by sony.
(5 Stars) I highly recommend this product.

defective or made of inferior materials?

I'm an avid SE product user. I was totally disappointed when my charger stopped working after 2 weeks. The green light works but the phone will not charge, nor will the map light work.

I could have gotten the same results with an aftermarket product!

Unfortunately, I threw the packaging away assuming I had a quality product.

I received in time promised, but was disappointed in the looks of the product. It works great but the logo on the charger was not straight, it almost looks as if it is a factory second, but the price was right and it works good!

I was skeptical about ordering this product, some reviews said the product was cheap and parts broke off. Well I've had it for 3 weeks and none of the things that the reviews indicated have happened. I suspect operator error/abuse, the product itself is not cheap. I've dealt with I am forever loyal to Sony Ericsson. I've used accessories from them for 4 years now and I have never been let down.

But anyway on to the product review.

I now only charge my phone when I'm driving. When your car is running it's making all this extra energy so why not take advantage of this rather than using home electricity. My commute is about 25 minutes so it gets a good charge. The charger itself has a small lamp built into it and the light is quite bright. Someday that light will come in handy, but it goes to show that Sony Ericsson is innovative. My favorite thing about the charger is the green Sony Ericsson logo that lights up (instead of the usual red light) when you plug it in! NEAT!

Overall I'm happy with this product, it cost more to ship, but it's well worth it and I'm going to order a second one.

I loved the light, but after just a couple weeks it stopped working. not a money saver if you have to replace it with a quality product.
Total waste of time and funds. After complaining to the company SF Planet I got an email saying they would be happy to replace the item with a new one, which arrived a couple days later.
The first time I plugged it in, it had a short that was causing my phone to connect and disconnect from the charger so my screen was constantly popping up with the charging icon. When I got it to finally charge consistantly the green light on the car's side went out and it no longer worked at all. Again, this product is total junk and I wouldn't take a replacement again. Great customer service.... if that means anything. and if you only want to charge your phone once every 3 weeks for 5 minutes, between waits for the replacement to come... this might be the charger for you!
