Great light -- very sleek and effective. But very small -- much less impressive than I had imagined. And does not spread light across the complete stand, mostly just in one section. Vendor was great and so was the shipping. But this is more of a book light than a music stand light.
Not what I imagined. 2007-05-02
I think that this light is mediocre. It's something (by the looks of it) I would have paid $10 or less for in a store - if that. But, the picture made it look more impressive than it is. With shipping it came to $17.90. I bought this as part of a mother's day present, and I am disappointed with the presentation to say the least.
I would not buy this again, and if the return shipping wouldn't be $5, I would send it back.

I have been through SO many booklights over the years and hated every single one of them. My husband goes to bed early and is up early and I'm a night owl. I love to read before bed so a light is necessary. Out of atleast 15 different types over the years, I finely found one I love. The batteries last FOREVER; the clip is strong and works great; and the neck that you can position anyway you want...just unreal! If you're looking for a book light, music light or whatever, this is the one you should buy!

I got this music light more as a booklight, due to inadequacies of my other booklights. Wow, was I surprised at just how well it works! The lens they've added to the plain-old LED is truly amazing in just how evenly it spreads the light. Reading a full-sized book is easy because the light doesn't dim at the edges, and the long arm allows you to pull the head out far enough to cover all the page. The LED is a newer 3x brighter version, which helps, though it might not be quite enough to cover two full-size sheets of music at a dark gig if your eyes aren't so young anymore; there is a two-headed version that would be ideal for that purpose. Since it's an LED, the batteries last a very long time, and it uses 3 regular AAAs, which are easy to find. You could use rechargeables if desired, though the extreme battery life would allow them to self-discharge before you used the full charge.
