Red Hot & Challenging!
2005-11-25
The previous reviewer provided a lot of good information about this DVD. I thought I would add a few additional comments.
First, you get a lot of bang for your buck with these $50 Cathe DVDs - they are definately worth the money. This DVD has 3 full workouts - Boot Camp, Muscle Endurance and a Combo (of the 2). There are also a number of other options on the DVD menu.
I workout regularly with a variety of videos/DVDs but I'm not that motivated when it comes to doing resitance training on my own. There is some light barbell work on sevaral of the Firm Cross Training videos but my barbells were mostly collecting dust.
I found Cathe's DVDs when searching on Amazon. When I saw the description for this DVD it sounded like the perfect fit for the equipment I have but the price was really challenging. I decided to take a chance and go for it. Needless to say, I was very impressed and I even ordered another $50 Cathe DVD.
If you have the equipment (barbells, dumb-bells, a High Step/Firm step and maybe even a medicine ball) and you enjoy an hour of resistance training, I would highly recommend this DVD. It's challenging for an experienced exerciser but it can easily be modified to to fit any other experience level. There is some intense ab work on this DVD too. If you don't have one, you might want to purchase the "Heavy Resistance TheraBand Exercise Band" for $7.49 through Amazon when you order this DVD. Cathe uses this also and the standard resistance tubing/bands aren't a good subsitute.
Although there is no price difference between Amazon and Cathe's website, when ordering through Amazon, the Cathe DVDs/Videos are shipped Priority Mail. On Cathe's website USPS is not an option so they won't ship to a PO Box. If you live outside the continental US their only shipping options are 1 or 2 day air so Amazon is a significant savings on the shipping if you live in Hawaii.
The Best!

If I could only have one workout DVD it would be a cross between Boot Camp/Muscle Endurance or Jari Love Get Ripped 1000. My whole body is sore the day after doing Boot Camp or Muscle Endurance. Both workouts are for people that are serious about fitness. I love this DVD much better than some of her newer work. This DVD has it all!
2 fantastic workouts to rev up your workout
2007-05-11
Ok ... you are getting 2 fantastic workouts on one DVD. You get Muscle Endurance (ME) to hit every single muscle group in your body. It's a full body weights workout .. no nonsense, just weights.
Then you get BootCamp where you will alternate one minute endurance drills (as Cathe says "You can do anything for a minute!") followed by a combo weights exercise, followed by an isolated weights exercise, and followed by ab/core work. One of the greatest things about this DVD is the premixes, since if you dont' want to slow down your workout too much by doing ab/core work in the middle of it, you can do the 'everything but core' premix, and then add in 'only core' afterward.
Then the genius extra - the bonux ME/BC premix. It's long (70-ish min), but you will add in a few of the cardio BC sections with some of the ME weights sections, and get a really great remix of the 2 workouts together that is like a 3rd workout on the one DVD. Fantastic!
So - if you want to work, this is for you. Don't be scared of not being up to the challenge .. you are. You can work in your own cardio limits and weighted abilities.
Problems with DVD
2006-12-04
This was the 2nd DVD with problems that I bought from this vendor. The first DVD had 2 sections where the DVD would pause but would continue playing, and I was willing to live with it. Bootcamp/Muscle Endurance, on the other hand, would not play the Muscle Endurance workout at all! I contacted the vendor and they said it was a problem with my DVD player and they would only allow me to exchange with any of their 'OPEN' dvds only to 'better suite my needs'. I own 20+ workout DVDs and none of them gave me any problems like this one did. The DVD is also fairly pricey and so I'm afraid to buy any more of these dvds from them. I was able to play the Bootcamp workout until towards the end (before the cool down section) where it would not continue playing. I like Cathe's workout very much. The part of Bootcamp that I was able to play was excellent! But I am very disappointed with this vendor.
friedrich gone bad

terrible customer service, absolutely the worse. Do not order from this website. I had a bad tape and it would NOT play, they refused to credit my account, insinuated that I had a "duped" copy from somewhere else!!
Get ready to burn fat and calories ;-)

Wow. Her workouts are tough but I love them all and they get you working. She is always no-nonsense and motivating and you need it to get through them. It's a great feeling when you are done because you know you've worked hard and burned a lot of calories and fat.
This workout is another great one from Cathe. It's two separate workouts; the first being aerobics with toning intervals and the second being high-rep body sculpting routines. The first workout (Boot Camp) is broken up into eight cycles each with four one-minute intervals that include floor aerobics, core workout, upper and lower body workouts. It's tough at times but stick to it and it does get easier. Then you do the second workout which is the muscle toning and body sculpting. You need a step and barbells for that challenging section, as well as a medicine ball and hand weights. It's also tough but the results are great. At the end of that, is a tough ab workout. This really does give you a full body workout and I highly recommend it to everyone whether you need to lose weight or you just want to mantain and keep your fitness up and muscles toned. It's a lot of fun and well worth working your way to the level you need to complete it in one full go.
