What it is is what it should be

I actually bought two of these locks to lock my new cherry rockers onto my porch. Sad to do this, but better safe than sorry. They are fine for this purpose and they would be fine also as bike locks. I like keys better than combinations, the cable is sturdy, the plastic covering thick (to avoid rust) and I can't think of anything to be improved.
OMG, it LOCKS my bike in place!

I bought a cheap bike in Iraq to get around better- I'm a mile from work and let's face it, walking every day kind of sucks... I needed something to secure the bike, so I bought this because it was able to ship to an APO. Some things don't (Would you believe bike pumps and wrenches are restricted items and only ship in the US through Amazon Prime??? Changing a bike tire is a real pain without them so I coughed up some extra money to use a different seller). Thanks for sticking it to me, Amazon!
Anyway, this device is great. It secures my bike to the bike rack, and curls up nicely around my bike frame. In short, it's inexpensive and does what it is supposed to.
Not Secure at all!

My Schwinn got stolen with this cable lock right in front of where I work, and in broad day light. One snip with a cutter is probably all it took. Buy a U lock if you value your bike.
A Winner all around!

6mm+ all steel cable, plastic coated, easy to use lock w/ key. Cable is 6ft long and can reach all of your bike. Plastic coated cable wont scratch your bike, Keyed lock, sooo no forgottened combinations, and it wraps up neatly on any support bar on your bike. Sure its not made of "Kripton or Titanium", and any thief with a 5ft cable cutter can cut it loose, but hes gonna look pretty funny carry'in that Bad Boy down the street or any where else in public these days!....and all this for another $6.49 cents. I didnt know "Peace of Mind" was soooo Cheap.
it is a joke

More world champions have worn Bell Helmets than all other helmet brands combined. From Grand Prix racing through the Indy 500 to Olympic cycling, Bell helmets have played a vital role in protecting sportsmen and women for nearly 50 years. Bell began as a small auto parts store in a suburb of Los Angeles. Growing under the leadership of Roy Richter, Bell became a leader in safety equipment for auto racing, motorcycling, and then bicycling. His commitment to creating great product through a close connection with the sport, along with his trust of and care for the people who worked for him, turned Bell from a one-man operation into a multi-million dollar enterprise. His legacy lives on today in Bell's commitment to racing, quality and innovation.
Very hard to use

The cable is so tightly wound that it is dangerous to try to use. Also you need 2 hands to be able to lock it with the key - very inconvenient & frustrating. We ended up just buying the chain that has a vinyl sleeve over it to use with a combination lock instead.
Bell Security Cable Bike lock

I was very disappointed with the bike lock. It does not have the holder for the lock like my last one had and the cable is so strong that it is hard to manage.

My son just loves this bike lock he uses it on the bikes and as an anchor for chain for his dogs.
Broke Fast
2007-03-03
The lock seemed really good for the money, but after a month of light use, the casing pulled out while I was stretching the cord. This means that unless I really fiddle with it, the hole that the lock goes into DOES NOT LINE UP with the plastic casing.
So really, it's a cheap product. It should not break when uncoiling!
