one worked, one didn't

I purchased two 5" dvd players. One worked perfectly and deserves to have a 5 star rating. The second one would start to play a dvd, then stop. It appeared to have a defect on the power switch connection. I called and emailed the seller, and was told by phone to send it to the manufacturer for repairs, so I sent to Coby (repairs may take up to 6 weeks).Later I got an email from the seller saying to send it back to them, but I had already packaged and sent to Coby. So that was a bit confusing, and I hope I can report in 6 weeks that I have gotten a repaired or new dvd player from Coby. The working dvd player is terrific, so it maybe a fluke in wiring in the one that didn't work.
Nifty little item. I now use mine all the time

I've had my unit since August (it's now December) and I've only recently begun to use it regularly. I can report that I'm getting a lot of enjoyment out of it. Mine's a 7-inch screen that I paid about $115 for (not the 5-incher featured in this ad). Nice clear bright screen with a number of screen-size (aspect ratio) selection options. It's a wonderful little miracle of a unit that allows me to rest in bed, putter around the house, exercise, etc. while watching. I can hook up the audio output to my boom box and expand the sound. Or headphones can be worn. Doesn't play discs with still photos, but who cares? One time the screen went all blue in the middle of a DVD and I thought the darn thing was broken for good. But after turning the unit off and on again, the picture returned. I'm quite happy with this Coby unit, as long as the screen behaves itself!! I mainly use it with the AC plug. But it runs without any visible or audible interruption when the cord is removed and reattached. Battery seems to hold out for a god while, but then I've only used it inside the house and mainly on the AC cord. Cool device!
I own this and got exactly what was described.

I got two headphones unlike the other reviewer. It came with everything described. The screen is 5 inches and it is an excellent product for my 3 year old to view in the car. She controls it with the remote that accompanies it. My 14 year old charges the rechargeable battery up and brings it to "away" soccer games on the school bus! No problems after 3 months of HEAVY useage.
Yes, beware!

Do not order this item, if you want a DVD player with a 5 inch screen. This item is not as pictured. You will receive a small orange colored player with a 3.5 inch screen.
BEWARE!

There has been a mix-up here. The item pictured here is NOT the Coby TF DVD5050. The spec.s given here do NOT match the spec.s and capabilities of this item. The spec.s given here do not even match the TF DVD5050! Here's what you are looking at: The Coby TF DVD550. For spec.s go to coby.com. This device has a 3.5 inch screen. It does not have two headphone jacks or two sets of headphones. It will not display JPEG images from a disc. It does not have a zoom function in the playback mode. Amazon has been notified but is not taking responsibility for the mix-up. TechDepot (the Amazon partnet actually delivering this product) has been notified, but is not taking responsibility for the mix-up. TechDepot will take the item back, no problem, but if you wanted the item described, they won't have it. As far as I can tell, nobody has it. The closest thing out there is the Coby TF DVD450, which has a 4.5 inch screen, looks like the one pictured here, and matches the description here except that it doesn't have two headphone jacks. I don't know WHERE that came from! Hope this saves you some aggravation.
