Just what I expected!

Since I am a fan of this cartoon, it didn't surprise me that I was satisfied with the dvd. Plus it arrived to me at a decent amount of time. :D
Tom and Jerry Spotlight Colection Volume 1 &2 2008-04-05
It was just was I was looking for. I have been waiting and waiting for BOOMERANG to play BLUE CAT BLUES for a very long time and I decide to buy this when I found out by searching that they included the cartoon that I wanted to see and love by Tom and Jerry in this disc. It is a great buy and good deal for the price if you love Tom and Jerry like I do.
Just like I remember 2008-03-31
I can't stand today's cartoons and miss the old days of Looney Toons, Droopy, and TOM & JERRY. This collection has all the old favorites and I can't wait to sit with my kids and show them what real cartoons are all about.

I purchased this item for my son & it's a classic!! I remember these toons from when I was a child & find myself sitting right next to him watching & laughing right along w/him.

Proponents of anti-violence on TV should pay attention to the nonsense that is shown nowadays on kids' channels. The good message new cartoons try to convey is lost amid hideous, screaming, and insane characters that leave parents perplexed and anxious. This collection of Tom and Jerry brings sanity back. It teaches about love and chivalry, war and peace, and friendship and forgiveness. Animators of olden days actually used their minds to create very clever, beautifully drawn and entertaining plots that even parents can enjoy watching. As far as violence is concerned, many people who grew up watching Tom and Jerry are now lawyers and doctors, engineers and architects. I have no idea how modern cartoons will affect young minds. As far as this collection is concerned, sit back and enjoy the show- it's a classic!
This is probably the best Tom & Jerry Collectors set available 2007-09-23
On Volume One, Whoopi Goldberg puts in her 2 cents. I do not like this part. I do not care about the liberal perspective hoopla but whatever.
As far as the cartoons, I am really enjoying them especially commercial-free! Some of my favorite episodes are in this collection - the one with the cute little duck who has low self-esteem and thinks Jerry is his mother is on here. Also where Jerry becomes a school teacher and he teaches the baby mouse how to be a mouse. They are sooooooooooo cute!!!!!!!!! Only on one episode on Volume 2 there was low sound but overall, the picture and sound has been great, I think.
As far as "editing" goes............if there is any editing done in this collection, then I am missing it. I am not sure that this collectors edition was subject to editing, or if the "editing" was done only to currently televised versions. Nonetheless, I believe this 4-disc set makes a great collectors edition for Tom & Jerry.
Worth the Purchase 2007-07-30
Among our son's DVD collection this is one he truly enjoys. The comedy, music and animation are classic. The bonus material on the cartoons history is educational and the packaging is first rate.
