This is a wonderful product!!

I ordered this bench as a replacement for one "inherited" from an aging relative several years ago. It had aluminum legs and rubber stoppers, but finally needed to be replaced. I had gotten used to having a bath bench for shaving legs and foot care while in the shower, and found this reasonably priced bench with other good reviews. It turned out to be true that it is very sturdy, easy to assemble, and can be easily disassembled if you wish to take it somewhere with your or are moving. The bench is comfortable and well constructed, and one can feel safe that it won't move out of place when sitting or arising. I am very pleased with this purchase and vendor.
Carex Universal Bath Bench Review

It is safe and sturdy yet easy to move... I haven't been able to use my right hand for over a month because of a freak kitchen accident and surgery to repair the damage. I can easily move this bench in the position I need and my husband can easily remove it to take his shower. It is wide and sturdy with non-skid feet (four legs). You do need to make sure all four legs are on an even surface - don't put one leg in the drain or you can fall-thats for those of us who have freak accidents:)
Bath Tub Bench

The Bath Tub Bench arrived in Good Time. Am pleased in that this bench is made of plastic and does not cause rust spots in the tub, which our previous bench did. Also liked the Fair Price. JIm
Great purchase

We bought this bath bench to replace the standard shower chair with a back and aluminum legs. This bath bench is SO MUCH BETTER - it is sturdier (and I'm a woman of ample size), easier to keep clean and because of the way the legs are constructed, no water can get inside them, so no kind of rusty/crusty-looking spots to worry about. Plus, the feet of this bath bench are much thicker and sturdier rubber than the conventional shower chair. That was why we had to toss our old one -one of the rubber feet wore through and we were afraid the bathtub would get scratched. Replacement feet were pretty expensive and in any case, as pleased as I am with this bath bench, it's probably a good thing I didn't spend $ on replacement parts for the old one. This bath bench is also a wonderful value and Amazon gave me free shipping (LOVE YOU AMAZON!!!) I'm very happy!
Bath Bench Too Large for Residential Shower
2008-01-04
This bath bench is supposed to be a universal size but is too large for a residential shower. Size was not included in the description. The bench is an excellent product (very strong, height is adjustable)but is 21 inches long and 18 inches wide and takes up half the shower. I wish I could have used it.
This bath bench has shortcomings

I am not sure what the target customer base is for this product. I purchased it for our guest bathroom, which has an oversized shower stall, for my brother's visit. My brother lost both his legs, and I wanted something where he did not have to sit on the floor of the shower. Unfortunately, this chair sits a little too high and lacks the stability necessary for him to climb into it, and we do not have shower hand rails to assist him. So, I tried using it in one of the our bathrooms that have a tub, but it is too big for a standard sized tub. In the end I had to return the product. All, I can figure is this is for someone to take a shower who can stand, but doesn't want to. It is too risky to use for a person who is infirmed or disabled.
Nice for elderly who are still mobile
2008-05-26
Product is nice as advertised and good for elderly who are mobile but a little wobbly in standing and bathing. Seat does take up lots of room in the shower stall, not enough room to move about without hitting the controls for water. Strong and seems to not be rusting.
Heavy duty

I highly recommend this bath bench...I use it in my stall shower. It is well made and designed. The only caution is that you make sure that its size will fit where you want...it may be too large for some older/smaller tubs. Otherwise, there are only positives:
-Heavy duty and sturdy
-No metal parts to rust
-Less than 2 minutes to assemble, no tools needed
-Easy and secure height adjustment
-Can be adjusted for uneven surfaces
-Made in the USA

Bath Bench

The Carex Universal Bath Bench was definitely a good purchase for us. My husband broke his heel and cannot shower standing up, so I ordered the bench and it does the job. We have a typically sized tub for a home built in the 70's and the bench fits quite well. It's VERY sturdy with a wide, comfy seat. Suited our needs perfectly. I also ordered a cast protector from Amazon at the same time, and I highly recommend the bench and the protector to make life easier for someone confined to a leg cast.
