Great sound, poor battery compartment 2008-02-22
Sound was great. I made almost a whole break room jump when I demonstrated them to this lady at work who was looking for a portable audio solution. Didn't distort at my mp3 player's max output.

Battery pack was........... loose. The springs that are supposed to hold the batteries in place just barely press the batteries against the opposite terminal, and when I moved the speakers even a bit the batteries fell out and bounced around in the casing. Solution: stretch the springs out of course, but very carefully. I also cut up a bit of foam mattress into strips and glued it in the cover. Works fine now.

Six AAA batteries seems a bit much though. With rechargables it's not really too bad, but still.......... I'll see how the Altec Lansing Hockey Puck speakers sound with three AAAs and then I'll decide which I want to take with me everywhere I go.

Not Worth it 2007-12-11
Although it is convenient to use, the sound is too tinny for me to enjoy. It's much better to use an iPod with a transmitter to an FM station on a standard issue boom box.

Camping Music 2007-08-03
We bought this speaker system for camping and it is perfect. Sounds good and battery operated means we can take it anywhere.
