Worth it

I had an older model sonicare, and it lasted me over 4 years before the battery simply would not hold a charge. After going back to a regular toothbrush for a couple weeks, I broke down and bought this as a replacement. I definitely prefer the new style brush head to the older model, and this model still provides that extra-clean feeling that I simply wasn't getting with the manual brush.

I highly recommend this product. As a college student without dental insurance, I can say that an ounce of prevention is worth four cases of beer.

Bought the e5500 to replace an earlier model we have used for nine years. (Battery finally gave out - not replaceable).
Operation is much the same, with the 4x30 second timed sequence (30 sec to clean each quadrant). New brush head design is much improved to clean between teeth.
Highly recommend for good oral hygiene.

Gets the job done.

Would recommend this toothbrush. It does a better job then some others that I have previously owned.

I bought a $[...] roto-dent toothbrush from my dentist, and it doesnt even come close to this. Within the first week, i can no longer see the stains i had on my front teeth anymore! and my gums look so healthy...This thing is no joke, i never had such clean teeth before, without a professional cleaning. I also dont keep it on the charger like another reviewer recommended...Just be sure to tighten the head every few days, because i thought it needed a recharge, and all it needed was the head to be screwed back tight on the toothbrush body..2 weeks, and still going strong with no charge! [...] is where you need to go to buy a seal for this, so you dont have to take it apart to clean it..highly recommended. I know this may sound strange, but i actually look foward to brushing my teeth now..unbelievable toothbrush!!!

Sonicare Essence e5500

For years I have used the Braun Oral B. It was fine and less expensive than the Sonicare. After the Oral B died, my dentist recommended the Sonicare. Though it is more expensive than the Braun, it is head and shoulders above it in quality and cleaning.

My hygenist recommended that I get a Sonicare. What a great product. It takes a little getting used to the vibrating feeling on your teeth, but what a difference it makes. My teeth are noticably whiter and my gums feel much better. It is set to run in four 30 second increments which is great to make sure you cover your entire mouth for the appropriate amount of time. My mouth feels great every time I brush!
I withhold the rating of five stars, as no product is perfect.
As always, AMAZON is super fast with products arriving. Never disappointed.

Love this tooth brush

I have gone through a few electric tooth brushes in my time and none compare to this Sonicare tooth brush. Everytime I use it my teeth feel like I just came out of the dentist office with smooth silky textured teeth. I have even noticed that they have gotten whiter as I use it and I do not use teeth whiteners. If you are looking for a reasonably priced but affective electric tooth brush this is the one for you.

Good for Grammy and Grand Daughter

My 2-year-old grand daughter was visiting when this toothbrush arrived. Since it has 2 heads, she got one and I got the other. She learned to put the toothbrush in her mouth before turning it on so the toothpaste wouldn't splatter. She loves the vibrating sensation and I like how clean my teeth feel when I'm done!!

Buy the FlexCare with or without the UV

Do yourself a favor and buy the Sonicare FlexCare. The newer FlexCare models are an upgrade without the screw-on design flaw of this Sonicare model. This model has a hideous design where the saliva and other brushing liquids seep down into the inner mechanisms of the hand piece and pool up in a really disgusting way and requires you to take it apart and clean off inner crevices made up of metal and plastic parts. The new design eliminates all that slew of slime. This brushing action is fantastic, just like the new one, but this design stinks...literally.
