awesome gaming pad 2008-09-29
The smooth surface doesn't work with my Razer Diamondback 3G laser mouse, but I prefer the rough side anyways. As a previous reviewer stated, the rough side is actually not that rough so don't worry about toughening your palm. This pad comes with 5 mouse feet that reduce friction a little. The only thing that sucks for me is that my desk isn't exactly huge so this thing takes up a considerable amount of space. If you're a gamer looking for a smaller mousepad, take a look at the Steelseries QcK and QcK Mini, although both of those are made of cloth.

My review 2008-08-02
Well u can use both sides... 1 is more for optical mouses, and the other 1 is more for laser mouses. It comes with cool stickers and very well presented... Even tho i ordered in vane cause i dont use it at all (dont need it with my G3) its great for Mouse Pad users. Ill sell it cheaper if u want it lol.

Nice mouse pad! 2008-06-08
Got this in a bundle deal with a G3 logitech mouse and was surprised with the quality. Good mouse surface, works great for gaming!

Great mouse pad for developers 2008-05-13
There is a noticeable difference when using this mouse pad compared to the standard, "freebie" ones. The most obvious is the greater surface area: it's large enough that I don't have to pick up my mouse and reset while moving the pointer across the screen. This is ideal for developers who spend most of their work days highlighting/scrolling through lines of code or navigating through different window applications. The surfaces (both smooth and "textured" sides) make the mouse glide quite easily, which is especially noticeable after long hours of use.

Worth the money 2008-04-26
I didn't know that this was a 2 piece mousepad initially. It has a 2 sided surface (one smooth and one textured), and a non-slip mat that fits the shape. It also comes with stick-on teflon feet for your mouse which make your mouse incredibly slick on this mat. I currently use the textured side because I like the way it looks on my desk better, but with my Logitec MX-1000 Laser, there are no problems tracking on either side. Overall, very smooth, very comfortable. I am not a PC gamer anymore, but I love the huge surface for my freelance design work. A+

I think there is better than this(it is so simple) 2008-04-06

Works very well 2008-01-27
As has been said before, the smooth surface does not work with optical mice. However, the rough surface provides excellent tracking while the Teflon feet create a smooth movement. "Rough" is actually not a very good description, I would call it "textured". No "palm toughening" is needed. Mousepad is plenty big, and in my opinion the logo actually looks kind of nice on my desk. Nonslip surface works well.

nice and big 2007-09-25
this pad is great for both low and high sensitivity players.. its big and the price isnt too bad, especially with free shipping

Smooth size + Razer doesn't work 2007-09-10
I bought this with a Razer Diamondback, but that mouse can not read the smooth side of this mousepad. The rough side will require some toughning of your palm so be prepared! Other than that, it's extremely sturdy the logo will rub off on the included no-slip pad very quickly. But I have seen no wear on either the mousepad or the non-stick thing.

Excellent product!

Well sized gaming mouse pad 2007-07-21
This Steel series mouse pad is a well done product, is very solid and the size is right for gaming ( specially first person shooter games). It features 2 types of surfaces for all needs. Great product...
