Too big, not nearly as good as the newer G15
2008-04-29
I replaced this keyboard with the newer G15 (orange) and found it was much better all around. This G15 was so large that the mouse pad was scrunched in the corner, also had technical problems with it after some use- certain keys stopped working randomly. Not sure if it was a driver issue or something else (using Vista) but couldn't fix it. If looking for a great gaming keyboard, go with the newer G15 instead.
Great Keyboard

I have to say I was lucky with this one as I was one of the early adopters back when they started shipping. This keyboard is great for Gamers, that's I repeat for GAMERS. It will not do a good office keyboard substitute but it will sure be an awesome gaming accessory since you can program the LCD.
With this keyboard you will appreciate a lot the backlight and the macros buttons, even though there are more than you will ever use, even if you are an intensive gamer.
About the media keys, I'll be honest they are cool but I never Used them, same as the Windows button and the mute button.
Some Extra things before buying:
Its large in every way, make sure you have the room , not only to put it but also to let you see the LCD.
IT uses a lot of RAM specially if you have many applets on the LCD
Programming the LCD is not very simple, recommended for experienced users only.
Some keyboards have bad paint on the keys (mine got the most used keys erased) call Logitech they know this issue and will replace it for Free. I think this was only on the first units. I've been using mine for over a year now and it looks as good as new.
The USB ports on the back cannot be used with devices that require a lot of power (External Hard Drives, Webcams, etc)
In my opinion it was kind of epensive at first, buy I wouldn't change it for any other model still.

I am an Engineer by profession and do alot of drafting and design every day in my line of work. This keyboard is far and away, the best programmable keyboard I've ever used for the price. Don't let the gaming designation fool you into thinking it's just for gaming. On the contrary, it is highly versatile and can be programmed to work with just about any executable program. It's 3 banks of 6 G-keys easily shifted over 3 memory stations gives you an extra 54 programmable key functions in addition to the F-keys. Macro's are easily created with the enclosed software and the media keys are a very cool and convenient feature. This G-15 is actually, in my opinion, better than the newest Logitech G-15 keyboard because it gives the user more programmable functionality. The only negative that I have found so far is that the keys are a little noisy and springy sounding. Also, the included plastic palm-rest is cheezy and should be thrown away.
Great Keyboard for the MMO player

Purchased this keyboard for use with the game "Final Fantasy XI" based on the recommendation of a friend. It works well, though the setup of some in-game macros can be a bit complicated, at first.
As a whole, the G15 does its job well. It's a great choice for the avid gamer.

Top of the line, Nothing better, Perfect, amazing, great...
This keyboard is beyond any expectations i have ever had! Ive owned it for a few months now and its still perfect! the LCD is VERY handy especially for music programs and time (stats as well) but to be able to control winamp in game is just a godsend!
The program able keys work very well too but dont kid yourself your not going to use them lol
52 something possible combos?! thats way to much work to program (make sure you back it up if you do tho!)
they aren't that easy to use in game unless its an RPG and you have spells assigned to them
personally i don't use them at all
but i love having them and would gladly spend the extra money just to keep them because they look so pretty at night!
BEWARE THIS BOARD IS HUGE! make sure you have desktop room
happy hunting!
Fun Factor High

I really enjoy the Logitech G15: it's not just the look or the easy layout of the keys. It's also the little details--the keys spring back just right under my fingers, the multiple illuminations levels are perfect for the different conditions in which I work, and the software that lets you configure different profiles is very easy to learn. I find myself using the G15 for everything from gaming to writing to coding and not having a problem--I've got big hands and I appreciate the wide spread of the keys.
I also enjoy the LCD: the Performance Monitor is very useful to me, the Clock comes in very handy when my lights are out and I want to keep track of my late-night hours, and although I was sad at how few games support the LCD panel's features, I've been pleased to see more games added to the list with each software update.
I would definitely buy this again. I imagine the newer edition is just as good....but at the high price I had to pay for this one, imagining is all I'll be doing for a while. :)
G15 vs G15 2007 Version
2008-05-29
Well this version is really not worth the price it is now i know people like this one mostly better to the newer one but there is mostly only 2 major diffrinces .
G15 Old
= blue LED
and more G keys
G15 2007
= Orange LED
and Fewer G keys
thats the major reason why ppl are complaining about the newer one.
the Newer one is better. but it would of been BETTER if it had a option to light up in 1-2 or more LED colors instead of one. will see that propbly in the newer logitech gameing keyboard
Great keyboard period

I got this keyboard back when it was around 60-70 dollars which was a steal. it was when teh new g15 came out and everyone thought that would be a complete replacement, i took one look at it and decided on getting an original. I have had it for about 6 months now and have had no problems ever. The applets for the led can take some major ram so i recommend shutting some of them off or having at least 2 gigs when using this while playing games. i use this and play games and run xfire and steam and ventrillo and some other stuff and use about 2.5- 3 gigs of ram. but i have 4 gigs so its no problem. One thing i would have liked though was that the usb would be 2.0 instead of the 1.1 that is on there. but not everything is that perfect right.
Would Not Recommend

Bought this keyboard for my gaming husband and we discovered that it caused numerous games to freeze and just didn't work as expected. We now have an oversized paper weight on our hands. I would not recommend this to anybody.
keyboard started glitching within 8 months
2008-04-30
My G15 keyboard started glitching within 8 months of purchase, my Enter, K, and I keys were the 1st to go, then keys started double typing and when I contacted Logitech's customer support they had me hook it up to a 2nd pc without there software. I hauled the keyboard
into work and hook it up (what a pain!)and yup the keyboard is junk.
Logitech's customer support had me fill out a bunch of info but I didn't have my receipt so I'm out my 180$, I went back to my old keyboard, its 10 years old and still works perfectly!
Logitech should be ashamed of them selves for selling substandard products at inflated prices! No matter how many bells and whistles a keyboard has it should last longer then 8 months!
I have an update- I worked with a very nice customer support person at Logitech and even without my receipt they worked with me to get a replacement keyboard! That's the good, the bad is that the new keyboard is the newer G15 and it seams to be a shadow of the original g15 that I had. I liked the flip up screen and disc volume control, the larger keys/keyboard. Everything about this new g15 is just less then the original G15 and I don't think they should be calling it a G15.
