Just okay

This printer is okay. I actually don't use it as much as I thought I would. I go the pharmacy machine as it is faster. Also if they get smudged I don't have to pay for them there. I have had a few pictures print out smudged. I wish it has more options. It's okay, but I probably wouldn't purchase it again.
Nice printer, ink can give you some trouble

We bought this printer as a way to generate quick 4x6 prints of reasonable quality. I must say the printer delivers quite well. The image quality is much better than I expected, its not the quality you'll get a professional photo place, but it is pretty close, better than you could hope for at the price. The print time is also quite reasonable, 1-2 minutes even for images with lots of different colors.
The only real down side is the ink gets settled pretty quickly. Our first test prints would not come out, and I was ready to ship the thing back. After digging around online, I found out about cleaning the cartridge (see owners manual for how to instructions). After doing a deep head clean of the cartridge, the images came out crystal clear. So if you run into that problem, just run the head cleaning (i only had to do it once, but read about people that had to do it 2 - 3 times) and that should get the printer going again.
All in for what you pay versus what you get, this printer is a great deal.
Great at home photo printer

Got this from Amazon on sale before Christmas. We really love it since we have a new baby--we just print photos off of our CF Card and send to the grandparents weekly. Love the feature where you can print 1-8 pictures per 4x6 photo paper. I've printed smaller photos for scrapbooks, office and my planner. It's great that we can just print photos for friends and family right after any event. I highly recommend this and the Canon ink and paper value packs.
Great price, not super user friendly

I'm not a tech genius, but I'm definetely capable of figuring out tech items. This is super easy to hook up, however, tweaking the settings to make your pictures look great (I/e not balanced and dark) is tricky at best.
I spent two hours fussing with it and still couldn't get as good of results as I wanted.
I've bought refill paper/ink and every time the ink runs out before the paper does. This ends up being about the same cost per print as taking film to Costco or Wal-mart, the convenience of having it available and in home is great... it's just not super user friendly.
Great Photo's

Digital cameras and mobile phones have changed the rules about taking photos. Now, the SELPHY DS810 Compact Photo Printer changes everything about how and where to print them. It's only about 9" x 9" x 4," much smaller than typical printers. And it doesn't have to be connected to your computer, so you can keep it in almost any room and print beautiful photos from there. It features Canon Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE), which uses an innovative print head with nozzles that eject consistent, precise ink droplets as small as 2 picoliters. This patented technology produces an outstanding resolution of up to 4800 x 1200 dpi, for exceptional detail and photo realism. You won't have to wait long; it can print a beautiful photo lab quality 4" x 6" photograph in about 63 seconds - directly from your PictBridge enabled camera. Shoot, print, share. Why wait? So, you have family and friends over, and everybody's taking pictures, even with their mobile phones. Why wait until tomorrow - or next week - to see everyone's images? Just put this user-friendly printer in a central place in your den or living room. Its built-in card slots let anyone print from their compatible memory cards, or they can print directly from their PictBridge compatible digital camera or DV camcorder. You and your guests can even print photos from an infrared-enabled mobile phone: just shoot, point your phone and print! And for Bluetoothequipped mobile phones, PCs and PDAs, this versatile printer is Bluetooth compatible5 with the optional Bluetooth adapter - allowing you to print from a nearby room. Plus, using the large, built-in 2.5" LCD color viewer and control panel you can fine tune your images before printing, for better results. With its small size and easy connectivity, the SELPHY DS810 Compact Photo Printer is the new way to view, print and share your photos.
Canon Selphy Photo Printer

It is a compact printer that will produce very good quality 4" X 6" prints in less than one minute. It is light weight and small enough to transport to a given location (Christmas party, family reunion or other location) and present the subjects with their own prints to go on the spot. They are better than Polaroid prints. The prints are not professional quality but are close to it.
Easy to use and great VFM

Can't recommend this product highly enough. Set up with my home PC was simple and straight forward. I use Google's Picassa and the quality of the prints is outstanding. Loading the ink was straight forward and the printer screen and menu easy to see and use.
Great 4 x 6 printer!

My first purchase of this item was the display model from a local office supply store. I liked it so much I purchased 2 additional units, one extra for myself and one as a gift. I even took it with us on vacation. Good print quality and easy to use. Canon USA support is excellent. Only drawback with this unit is that you can NOT use any other ink other than Canon. Also recommended is Canon paper for prints that will last one hundred years. Good machine for the price.
Great Machine but.....

Great little machine for quick 4X6 prints in a pinch. Just carry it with you and find an outlet. But if paper feeder poops out on you check the button battery located in base of machine. I was ready to trash mine because the paper would not feed. I could not find any reference to this battery in Canon's instructions. I believe its a 2032 cell.
