Disappointed after the first few weeks
2006-11-27
I bought this baby gym with a giftcard for the birth of our second child. I was estatic when she, at 6 weeks old, seemed to love to lay under it and look at the dangling toys. That excitement was short lived, however, as while the gym is set up, the toys bend with gravity toward the floor, making it very difficult for the baby to see and play with. I would even go so far as to remove them each time she was done so they could "morph" back into their true form, which never really happened. After awhile the gym part was put into storage and the toys simply scattered on the floor for my baby to play with.
I would NOT recommend this gym to new parents - go for the link gym instead. I have one of those from my cousin (10 years old) and was able to hang all kinds of toys from it with links I purchased at the store with MUCH more and longer lasting success.

I researched gyms for the best one and this was it. I got it thinking my 2-month-old would just stare at it but by the second day he was in it he started moving and grabbing at the toys like I had never seen him do with any of his other toys. He has picked favorite toys on the gym and moves according to where I put them. It has been over a month and he still loves it, playing with it for literally hours. I'm excited to see how he'll play with it when he is sitting up.
Great fun!

My baby is now 7 months old, we've had this for about 5 months now & he still loves it. My husband was skeptical when I bought it, thought it was an "unecessary purchase" (what isn't, really?) but this proved to be our baby's FAVORITE place to hang out. His 5 month old cousin loves it so much that her parents are purchasing one for their home.
A great toy for the price!

I was surprised when I read other reviews for this playmat. Our 3 month old daughter absolutely loves this! The toys are removable, and have come on trips with us (when we didn't have room for the whole playmat). She just loves the mirror/funny face and the ladybug! I can lay her down on the mat and fold laundry without worrying about her injuring herself. The mat does have a strong edge and one end which helps with the "bunching" issue under the baby....and while my daughter wiggles a lot, the mat stays mainly in place. For a less-expensive playmat, I think this one is a success!

we just recently purchased this for our three and a half month old, while the toy attachments are darling, and our son absolutley loves the giraffe!! and the assembly was pretty easy, and it folds away which is a big plus!!you can move the toys for time on back and "tummy time". all in all biggest complaint is that the mat will bunch up under a wiggly baby

This delightful and versatile gym will let you provide just the right stimulation as your baby grows and develops. Use the overhead gym as Baby lays beneath it on her back. With the arch up over Baby's head, you can place toys in different ways. Put some to gaze up at and others within her reach. When little hands bat, the toys will move and bounce. Has Baby moved on to tummy time? Place her on her tummy and move the toys down into slots on the fleece-covered floor arch. Position toys to encourage reaching and grasping, and place the mirror where it will reflect Baby's image. When Baby is able to sit up, you can move the upper arch down, add toys in various positions all around. Fill all eight slots to surround Baby with stimulating fun. Measures 32.5"H x 24.5"W x 3.5"D when open; measures 24"H x 24.5"W x 3.5"D when closed.
This was a hit!

I would recomend this product. My son who is 1 month and a half, just loves looking at all the different things on the gym. He loves the black and white attachments. He spends hours just staring and smiling.
