Editorial Review
You are looking at the coolest iPod accessory in the world. The iTrip FM transmitter for the iPod can play your music through any FM radio in your car, at a party, or wherever the mood strikes you - and you have a radio. It's clear that the iTrip is made specifically for the iPod. This gives iTrip advantages over similar devices. For example, with the iTrip, you can have the cleanest possible signal - because you can choose any radio station on the dial to tune for the best performance possible. You do this by 'playing' special station codes directly from the iPod itself.Another advantage of the iTrip is that it needs no batteries - it receives its tiny amount of power from the iPod. The Original iTrip can even rotate out of the way to charge the iPod while still in use. No more batteries ever again. There's not even a power switch - just plug it in and go. It shuts off automatically after 60 seconds of silence - just like the iPod. The iTrip is the ultimate accessory for the iPod because it allows you to share the music and share the fun beyond your headphones.

Totally Worthless! 2007-11-20
I owned one of the very first iTrip's Griffin put out and it was fantastic. I could pick up a reasonably good signal from it two blocks from my home. Because of my good luck with it I chose to ignore all the negative reviews about the 4026-LCDT iTrip assuming they came from people who were picky audiophiles. What a mistake! This thing is an unmitigated piece of garbage. I have to hold it against the car radio to even get a static-filled signal and even when in "stereo" mode the signal is so weak it comes out mono. Avoid this thing by all costs. I feel completely ripped off and will never buy another Griffin Technology product. I've had far better luck with Monster's cumbersome system for use in the car.

Heaven be praised! It WORKS! 2007-06-11
I have tried numerous devices to play my iPod in my antique beast of a car. I already had a cigarette lighter adapter to charge my iPod from a former failure of a converter, so the fact that this runs off the iPod battery is fine with me. It works, it's small, easy to use and I love it!

not perfect but works 2007-05-24
I get a lot of interference, but it does work. Perfect for podcasts not so cool for music.

Unsuitable 2007-05-14
Very bad experience. I bought it for my 80 GB video IPOD. But it was not suitable for that. So I just threw it away.

It works but it's not medal-worthy 2007-04-06
Bought this for my iPod Photo to use in my beater Hyundai (broken antenna) until it crapped out (the car, not the transmitter). It worked fine as long as I set the pod in the ashtray, any further and there was too much static! Now I have a little Honda CRX (with an actual radio antenna) and it sounds like garbage. I suspect it's due to my new stereo being able to actually receive radio signals - all those lesser stations I used to use have music on them w/ an antenna. I've used this in people's houses too but nothing beats a direct link via 1/8" stereo cable. For now I'll stick to CDs and find a decent cigarette lighter w/ USB and 1/8" inputs...

Great product! 2008-03-29
Of all the radio transmitters I've used, seen in action, or heard about, this one is the best. Easily. I've had friends in other cars drive down the road nearly 40 yards away and hear the signal from my iPod crystal clear on their radio. It works great!

it works? 2008-02-22
it works, the downside with things like this is that it doesn't broadcast strong enough, my as soon as my radio senses their might be a stronger signal it will start to get interference, i ended up just using a tape adapter. it also pulls from your ipod battery draining it faster.

Eh, not great 2008-02-13
This was really static-y on any radio I used. I now have an ipod video which this is not compatible with so I no longer use it any way, but wasn't thrilled with it while I did use it.

iTrip is a great low cost way to listen to iTunes via an FM radio 2008-01-25
I reviewed a number of products from $5 up to $100 for playing my iPod in my car. Some had combination charger / transmitters and others had automatic tuning. I would recommend the auto tune if you are travelling into areas where you know you have to change the station. I am typically in the same area all year long so I didn't need that. I also didn't want to have to use the transmitter to charge my iPod, as many times I'm listening to the radio / CD and am just charging my iPod for use at work.

Bottom line - If all you need is FM Quality sound to play your favorite tunes and don't have an input jack in your car, I recommend this item.

great product 2007-12-28
