TERRIBLE!
2008-07-14
I ordered the Get Better Center with confidence that I would love it...I DON'T! I barely ever play with it. The bandaids did NOT stick to the pets, the X-Ray machine did not work... and there is barely enough room for all the pets to fit it there if you get bonus pets. I had to stuff them in the birds little closet to close it up. This product is a complete dissapointment. I now feel guilty for wasting my parents money on this item. I am 11 yr.s old and I barely understand it! Do not get this!
A wonderful addition to the LPS series!

****
This little center has an x-ray center and a weighing machine [scale] and a little drawer that has a shot and a bandage inside. There is also a collar that keeps the animal from chewing itself. Also included is a bandage and a cast. It comes with three adorable pets [so if this is first item that you buy, you will have pets to play with in the set]. The pets included are the german shephard, a cat that drinks milk out of a bottle and a lizard. This lizard has the chicken pox and if you rub it, the chicken pox go away. [how cute is that!!]. The x-ray machine shows if your animal has broken a bone.
This set is so much fun to play with. My animals enjoy it and the weighing machine [scale] actually works [with the arrow above the scale reflecting a number to represent weight]. It is a very fun toy to play with [has lots of replay value and it was not hard to get it out of the box!!!].
[As per many of the LPS line, the toys are durable. The bobble-heads are well made and desite having three children, we've not lost any heads! The product has maintained itself and is easy to clean with damp cloth. Obviously, there are small parts so this product is not recommended for the very young - the age guidelines are appropriate as mentioned. The LPS have not disappointed and the children can play with their sets for hours.]
Cute choice if you already have other playsets.

My daughters (5 & 7) love the Littlest Pet Shop toys. We selected this as my younger daughter's first playset (she already had some pets), but I wish we had purchased the Little Lovin Pet Playhouse (same price) instead.
The Get Better Center is a small doctor's office. The regular version comes with a gecko, dog and magic motion kitty, and should cost about $20. There is now a version with bonus pets that runs for $25, but we have the original version. The office comes with an x-ray machine that works with the magnets in the pets, a scale and other small accessories, including a removeable cast and cone for the dog. The colors are bright - pink, orange, chartreuse, turquoise and purple. There are 2 built in seats, and a space for a drawer (included).
What I wished I had understood better was that this set contains a Magic Motion Cat. Magic Motion pets retail for $10, and consist of a pet with a bed (batteries not included) and a bottle. You put the pet in the bed, hold the bottle up to its mouth, and (in this case) the cat "licks" the bottle. My daughter isn't that interested in this feature, and just uses the cat like her many other, less expensive, pets.
This playset is quite small, as half the price is accounted for with the magic motion pet. When open (not including the door) the GBC measures just 13 1/2 inches by 6 1/2 inches. In contrast, the Little Lovin Pet Playhouse also costs $20, comes with 2 pets and is a much larger building with more to do.
The overall quality of the Get Better Center is fine, but our door comes off rather frequently, and I have to put it back on. The gecko has a feature where his spots fade when you hold him in your hand, and then return when you place him under the "sunlamp". The gecko is very cute, and my daughter loves him, but the spots don't really do what they are supposed to. These are minor problems, though.
Bottom line - while the Get Better Center does come with cute accessories and could be perfect for a budding vet, I think you should only buy it if you already have the Little Lovin Playhouse or the Biggest Little Petshop, or if your child really values the magic motion pets.
she loved it!

I got this for my niece's sixth birthday, she loved it! She wanted to take the kitty with bottle to bed with her. The bobbleheads appear to break easily but she still loves them, doesn't make a difference. I'll be getting more of those big eyed pets!
Another 5 star review for Littlest Pet Shop!

We have never been disappointed with a Littlest Pet Shop product and this set is no exception! My 4 year old loves animals and pretend to be a veterinarian all the time, so she just loves this!! The set is so cute and provides hours of fun for any kid!!! Great for animal lovers!!
I got this today, and I LOVE IT!

Help all of your pets get better soon in a special playset that comes with everything you need to keep them feeling their best. Magic Motion kitty features real drinking and licking motions when you feed her with her bottle. Includes puppy, gecko, kitty with bed, x-ray table, clipboard, stethoscope, syringe, cone collar, cast, medicine bottle, bench, water bottle and sticker sheet. Puppy and gecko contain magnets. Requires 2 "AA" batteries (not included).
Love it.

Simply awesome. I LOVE this set and play with it with my other littlest pet shop sets. I pretend that some pets own the "hospital" and other ones come to get fixed. And the age suggestion is garbage. I am 12 years old going on 13 and I love this set. I also like Bratz and Winx club. The age suggestion on that is for younger kids to, and thay can be for any age. Some of my other friends still play with dolls and pets too, so please put the age's up to, like, ages 5-99. This set and many others are too and I think if you made thage rating way to low. You would get more coustemors if kids were not afraid of getting teased of being to old for toys. I was teased in grade 2 for liking barbies. I WAS SEVEN. Gosh people. Great toy though, I love it.
Great item for your little animal lover and vet-in-training!

My daughter loves her Littlest Pet Shop Get Better Center and has fun helping the sick pets. It goes along nicely with other Littlest Pet Shop sets. My only gripe is that my daughter removed some of the cloth "bandages" and now we can't get them on again. They must only fit one animal and only go on in one way. Overall this is a great item and a favorite of my daughter. I see it being around for quite some time. It is also made to last, as her 3 1/2 year old brother has played with it too, and it is not hurt at all.
Great Toy...but BEWARE OF THE PRICE

My daughter loves this toy. It is pretty well made and a lot of fun. I realize that it is hard to find this year. I was looking for one for my nephew and alot of places have been sold out. I did continue to look and found it at walmart for $19.99. Alot of the stores are getting in new shipments all the time. I am not sure this toy is worth over double the price. This person should be ashamed at how he/she is taking advantage of people. $10 maybe but over double. Come on. Look somewhere else. Don't let this person take too much of your money!
shocked at prices

My daughter has this and many other littlest pet shop items. I would give the item itself 5 stars but I cannot believe the high prices that are being asked on the items listed. I bought this specific play set at Target for $24.99. I am usually impressed with prices found on Amazon, but I would recommend shopping around for pet shop items and saving yourself a ton of money.
