Big improvement over older "jigsaws"

I bought this quite some time ago when there was a special on it.
Only in the last couple of weeks have I used it and WHAT A BIG IMPROVEMENT over the many years old one that I have been using.
I love the blade lock that doesn't require a screwdriver to tighten a screw that on my old one that would need frequent attempts to re-tighten it and frequently damage the screwdriver slot.
It's much easier to see where you're cutting with this design.
The only negative is that the "lock" at the top front of the handle doesn't do anything. I didn't look at the manual to see but if it's like other electric tools that are made to protect you from yourself, it should be an interlock of some sort. It's not a big deal as I never had one on any old saws that I've had but it's probably a manufacturing defect.
The only thing missing is a laser to help you cut more accurately, but that model was already sold out when I found this one on sale.

It was delivered quickly, and works well. Possibly best for occasional use, which is what I wanted. The blades attach simply. The only criticism that I have is that the 90 degree blade position doesn't lock, but no problem so far.

For a jigsaw at this price, I was pleasantly surprised when receiving it in the mail. The saw had a quick disconnect attachment for the blade which is a vast improvement over the old type that required an allen wrench or screwdiver to attach the blades. It cuts evenly and you can easily see the line that you want to cut. A great saw for the shade tree carpenter in a do-it-yourself workshop.

Came quickly in the mail, the jigsaw is a lot stronger and sturdier than one I was using last year. It's strong and easy to work with. Very reliable.
Safety Lock 2007-10-01
Great little saw for the money. I also wasn't able to get the lock to work. I thought maybe mine was faulty but now I see that others had the same issue. Just be sure to unplug it when not in use to avoid any accidents. Otherwise, a very nice saw.

I have used this for several projects already and it has saved me a lot of time and effort. Just wished it could have come in a plastic carrying case instead of a simple canvass bag.
