I know that its normal for chargers like this to generate some noise that is audible through the car speakers when playing music but I just couldn't stand it. It honestly wasn't that much buzzing and had I kept the charger longer I probably would have gotten used to it and not heard it at all but I'm picky about those type of things. So overall I don't recomend it but I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter which charger you buy your still going to get some buzzing.

This works as expected with iPod mini but does not filter any noise. If it is plugged in and the iPod is playing it produces noise, most probably because of electrical noise coming from the car charger socket.
Powerjolt car charger whistles 2007-01-10
I have found the Griffin Powerjolt to be effective, but when I play the iPod while it is connected to the charger (via the iTrip) there is an audible high-pitched whistling that can be sort of annoying. The good news is, the iPod powers up pretty quickly when attached and when the battery life is sufficiently extended I can disconnect the iTrip from the charger and the whistle goes away.
Handy device to keep the ipod charged in the car

I use my iPod nano in my car and was constantly running the battery down. Finding a charger to do this is easy, but I wanted to go with a trusted name like Griffin. In summary, it does the job, the cord is long enough and it's white which matches my nano. Overall, a good value from a trusted name.

Perfect for what I wanted 2006-06-03
After reading so many reviews of similar products, I impulse bought this one before my trip. However, I have had zero problems with it. I drove from Atlanta to Chicago using this as my sole charger for my iPod mini. It kept it charged the entire time and did not make it hot. I listened to my iPod the entire way through my car radio and I had no static during the trip (well, once when going under a HUGE bridge). I loved that it comes with a long cord. I keep my iPod on the dash (one one of those rubber gripper pieces) and it reached easily. Could pick it up to adjust the playlist and put back with no problem.
Horribly noisy 2006-05-21
The box says you can either "power" or "charge" your iPod with the Powerjolt. To me, "power" means listening to the iPod while it is plugged in to the Powerjolt. However, there is an overwhelming amount of buzz and static when the iPod is playing while connected to the Powerjolt. Maybe this thing works ok to "charge" while the iPod is not playing, but it is not an acceptable way to "power" the iPod while it is playing.
It just works 2006-04-11
"It just works" is the highest praise I can give an item like this, and the PowerJolt truly lives up to it. I pulled it from the box, plugged it in, and it worked flawlessly. It seems to be well-built (surprisingly so for a gadget in this price range) and it comes with the necessary cable for plugging in the iPod.
I've read some complaints that other similar products cause the iPod to become very hot, which concerned me when I ordered this. However, I haven't had that problem at all. The iPod remains completely cool to the touch (so does the PowerJolt).
I wanted to listen to my iPod in the car without concern for keeping the battery charged, and the PowerJolt is just the ticket!
