Editorial Review
ATP ProMax SD cards are next generation high speed flash memory cards designed for your current and future multimedia devices allowing for super fast transfer speeds (initially 22.5MB/s, potentially 50MB/s). Not only will ATP ProMax SD cards unleash the full potential to your new device with ultra fast transfer speeds, but they are also completely backwards compatible with your current SD enabled digital cameras, PDAs, MP3 players and mobile phones. With this backwards compatibility, performance will be maximized with any current or upcoming multimedia device.Successors to the universally adapted SD (SecureDigital) cards, ATP ProMax SD cards are based on the latest standard specification v1.1 from the SecureDigital Association (SDA). By utilizing a clockspeed double that of 60x SD cards, current ATP ProMax SD cards are rated with transfer speeds up to 22.5MB/s read and 15MB/s write, effectively doubling the transfer speed of current SD cards. This means less lag between shots in your digital camera, less waiting time for GPS route calculations, and less waiting for file transfers.ATP ProMax SD cards follow the ATP tradition of industry leading durability and build quality. Designed for the most extreme interpretations of "mobility, " they are built with ample protection from water, dust, ESD (electro-static discharge), and an extreme temperature range of -40 and 85 degrees Celsius. In addition, they can take a reasonable amount of physical abuse. These memory cards will withstand any abuse your device can and more!ATP ProMax SD cards offer the perfect memory solution for any SD compatible device.

Ruggedized and Hardened still working fine after a year 2007-11-12
I bought one of these last year to use with my Casio Exilim EX-Z120 camera after reading a torture test where it was run through soaking in soda pop, rubbing in mixed powders, gooped with peanut butter and thrown at the wall and still worked.

In that review the reviewer disassembled one of the lower capacity cards in the model line and found that the entire circuit is encased in epoxy.

I've used in in a few devices without problems.

To the previous reviewer: Despite "standards" no manufacturers seem to actually be compatible with all the other manufacturers--SD cards or tires, there are variances.

My only complaint is that the cost is pretty steep compared to less "hardened" high speed cards. (I'm going to take a cheap regular SD card & see about embedding the circuit.)

Most electronics, if their unpowered when they get wet, and are completely dried before using, will survive a soaking in freshwater. I was mostly interested in it's ability to withstand ESD, but haven't tested that....

this does not work with Treo 650 2006-02-23
I bought the card for use with a Treo 650 and I thought it was the phone that had issues. After a month of trying to trouble shoot the phone I happen to try a friend's Sandisk 1 gig card for laughs to see if it would work. Hello and behold it works fine ! then I tried a MMC card and that worked great in my Treo as well !! It looks like this cards is not compatible with all devices !! The product discription does not mention this at all. Now it's going to cost me about $20 buck in restocking fee and shipping with Amazon to return it. I guess the lesson learned is don't buy electronics with Amazon unless you are absolutely sure of what you are getting, even then look around locally so you can try it before buying.
